  1. qantas charge $90 to setup a FF membership its crazy
  2. i needed 20 points. i took IELTS twice and couldnt quite hit superior. I took PTE and managed to get the 20 points i needed, i didnt like the school like examination the IELTS has and felt very much under pressure and its a really long day. the PTE can be tricky when the speaking test begins due to everyone around you talking so can be tricky to block it out but the trick is to start asap. i preferred being able to write my document on the computer rather than by hand as i could visually spell check it and scan over it and change it quicker than written. for me PTE was the way forward for those reasons and i felt like i was not under as much pressure which helped me for sure
  3. a little help as to what your occupation is ?
  4. your ideal visa is a working holiday visa. it gives you potentially 2 years of travelling, working, meeting people and visiting lots of different places you could eventually want to live in. this is the least financially costly and providing you meet the visa criteria which are relatively easy too meet can take as little as a few hours to get back once paid for.. with what you have said i dont think you would qualify for the skilled visa at the moment as you need 60 points minimum and your age and lack of experience will hold you back. check out the working holiday visa
  5. anyone fancy a detailed debate of London vs Sydney ?
  6. copies of bank statements, tax returns, invoices etc, statements from the contractors are good and a stat dec can help if a company has gone bust. if your claiming for experience you'll need everything you can get your hands on
  7. I'm not even mentioning the developer position I've had to fill internally whilst mentioning the developer position youv'e had to fill internally lol.
  8. hi guys, im after some advice on what you do with spiders if its not a general house spider, there is a red back who lives in the garden next to our washing line. we are finding she makes a big web from the washing line to the fence and worried she might get into our washing. dont want to kill it but dont know how i would relocate it ? any ideas
  9. Who are you doing it with vetasses or future skills
  10. It's similar to the am2 but has more motor control in it and a 2 hour in depth theory exam
  11. Agreed.. I used the down under centre and couldn't have asked for a better result. Easy to contact and discuss aswell
  12. i done mine in brisbane with future skills, have a look at them. try the "down under centre" i had a very good experience with them for my electrical skills assessment. you can only sit a practical once your documentation and certs has been verified and they say you can pay us $$ and go on to the theory and practical session. i also had a phone interview with an assessor asking me about testing and fault finding prior to siting the practical
  13. Took me 6 months from getting evidence to getting a positive electrical skills assessment. an expression of interest is supposed to be a decision ready application or there abouts. Not having a skills assessment just means there is no point in putting in an EOI
  14. not sure where your getting 10 points from from 3 years experience, 3 years experience is 5 points only Australian work experience is 10 points .Looks like you don't need the 20 points for the english but i wouldn't presume he will score 20. its not easy even for a native speaker. it stumps alot of people

    IELTS results

i wouldn't appeal, your clearly capable of hitting that score just beat that habit and go again.
  16. we took ours out with world nomads uk. you can get it easily if your still in the UK but if you have left the UK only a few give you the option of taking you home if the event. im guessing you have already left thats why you cant find one... hopefully this helps after re reading i think your saying you want to be flown to australia to activate your PR if something happened and not go home, apologies
  17. Perth is tough at the moment. From what I hear there will be a few tings happening up north and in Kwinana but I also hear 800 guys from barrow island will be offloaded. I'd say the next few years will be slow. Even more so unlicensed
  18. Have a look at future skills international. I sat my exam with them in Brisbane. At a total cost of around $2000. You need to have an NVQ 3 and am2 with at least 2 years post apprenticeship experience before you are eligible to sit the exam. Once completed you can apply for a provisional license and also have that assessment towards a resident visa or sponsorship. It took me about 7 months of prep with documents and actually sitting the exam so if your running out of time then start thinking about it
  19. Hopefully Australia will take a harder stance than Britain on paying taxes and loopholes
  20. a little trick I found that worked was making sure you do your best to start the test before anyone else. The speaking test is first so if you get left behind getting setup you will have a load of people talking and you'll find it interrupting to get settled. It also depends on what score you need. If your looking at superior English then you need to keep hammering the practice tests and I agree the describe image is the trickiest. I took IELTS 2 times. One time I didn't even hit proficient. Took Pearson 2 times. First time was 1 point off superior. Second time I smashed superior so if I can do it anyone can
  21. having just done a winter in the UK then straight into winter in New zealand im looking forward to a perth summer. nice photos tho
