  1. Going to find another website, clearly no one knows very much here about immigration rules and visas.
  2. I have no idea if I qualify for a visa. I might do, I might not. Discrimination is a fact.
  3. No, I want to go as a last remaining relative, not on a tourist visa. I was wondering what Australian immigration class as "work" as if they put me on a bridging visa I'll be on it for years probably forever and if it has a no work condition then what does that mean exactly? If you have blogs online that make you a passive income does that mean you will have to delete them so you are not earning?
  4. See my post above. When was the last time a travel writer or blogger was given a tourist visa for Australia and they were told to delete their Youtube videos and delete their blogs or told they cannot work on their blogs and earn passive income for the duration of their stay? Of course you can earn money in Australia when on a tourist visa!
  5. Let me explain what I mean. Some people travel the world whilst blogging. Some of them make thousands a month from Youtube and from ads on their blogs etc. Now when they travel the world and go to Australia on a tourist visa and stay 3 or 6 months they aren't told by immigration officials to delete their blogs and Youtube videos so they can't earn revenue whilst they are visiting Australia. They keep earning passive income, correct? They are still allowed to post to their blogs when they are there. They aren't told to stop working on their sites, right?
  6. ok thanks. I don't have a UK based company, it's an online digital marketing agency where I get clients from all over the world growing contractors' businesses through online marketing. My intention was to get clients in Perth (where every single family member is living) and other Australian cities, just as I do elsewhere. I was hoping that I could qualify for some kind of permanent visa as a marketing specialist since it's now on the updated list but I get zero points simply because I happen to be older than 45 so I'm not convinced I will qualify for any visa.
  7. Family live there, as a last remaining relative I need to go there. I like it there more than anywhere else. My posts are not against Australia, Im saying everything is made difficult by their rules. They seem to favour certain ages which is incredibly unfair to say the least. I have more experience now at marketing than ever but if you are 29 you get 100 pts, now I get zero points and I have vastly more experience. To me that is illogical.
  8. I asked as I don't know the answer. I can't try it and see as I need to know in advance obviously. Who would go all the way to Australia without making sure they knew the rules before they went? I'll try and find someone knowledgeable on an immigration site.
  9. I notice that a marketing specialist is one of the occupations on the new skilled occupations list. Does that mean if I get hired by a contractor over there I could get a permanent residence visa? As I am over 45 I am discriminated against and get zero points, yet if I was 29 I would get 100 points for some bizarre reason. I know considerably more about marketing now than I did then, so logically I should get 100 points now and get zero points at 29 years old. But as we all know there is no logic when it comes to Australia and immigration. It's crazy and illogical and makes no sense. I would score highly on their English test too. I know people who have got into Australia and their grammar and spelling are appalling, yet somehow they are allowed in. Makes no sense. Anyway I divert, back to my question. I noticed that a Marketing Specialist is on the 2017/2018 list of occupations. I am a marketing specialist! If I get a few Australian clients including one or two clients in the city I want to live in would I get into Australia or would they find a reason to deny me entry?
  10. You can earn money online in Australia on a tourist visa, why can't you? They don't stop you earning money on bank interest whilst you're on a tourist visa do they, it's the same working online.
  11. So I have to wait 50 years until I can go to Australia? I will be dead before then.
  12. Ah right I see. Here's what happens. When you apply for a last remaining relative visa there's a waiting period of 50 years. I think used to be 30 years but it's increased now. So realistically no one actually gets the visa, so you're on a bridging visa for life, unless you happen to live to over 100. When a visa doesn't permit work obviously that means you can't get a job e.g being employed by someone. But what about an online business? If someone has an income derived from the internet that's not the same as being employed by an Australian company so would you be allowed to stay on a bridging visa and have an online business? Or does Australia class "work" as online and offline?
  13. Afaik? I haven't applied for any visa, I just wanted to see if anyone knew the answer to my question as I wanted to go over as a last remaining relative and work online. Seems like no one knows the answer to my question. I'll see if an immigration expert knows. I've tried contacting Australian immigration sites before and had no reply which is why I tried here first.
  14. That's terrible. Everyone should be treated equally no matter what age they are. Just because someone is young doesn't mean they will contribute more tax or work longer. They could get run over , or die of anything at a young age whilst someone older could live to be 95.
  15. But what about online businesses where you are working for yourself? Do they allow you to have your own online business on a bridging visa?
