  1. http://www.uk.embassy.gov.au/lhlh/immi_certification.html Check the above link first.... Not sure a doctor can do it in the UK but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along and let you know just wouldn't like you to get it wrong and have your visa denied or put on hold due to having the wrong person sign your docs!
  2. Hi Laura, We are looking to move to Brisbane too at the end of Dec, beginning of Jan!!! Hopefully get to meet everyone for a bbq or something and we can all relish in the fact we are missing a British winter!!! xx

  5. Dxboz, any idea where that is stated? I couldn't find it on the immigration website. Think I'm just confused as we got sent a doc saying loads had to be certified and then got told on the same email that most don't but to follow the info sent regarding certifying... Very confusing. Thanks for replying everyone x
  6. Hi everyone, we have a migrant agent doing our application and he has just advised me that in regard to certifying documents, immigration "indicated" that they now accept colour copies instead so I don't need to get things certified?? I'm a tad sceptical and we are on a time frame so I don't want to not get them done for our application to them be refused or to have immigration request certified documents at a later date? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks x
  7. Hi! We are moving over in december and also looking at Brisbane. If you ever get time a post about those areas would be fab!! we were thinking of using move cube to.ship our stuff.. There are quite a few links on here regarding shipping, you should have a little look through then. From what I have read, prices can vary a lot :-)

  15. Hi @fifi69, my boyfriend already has a PR visa. We are all still in the UK and I'm applying for a de facto partner visa for myself and including my 18 year old daughter and my boyfriend and I's baby in the application. thanks for all the comments... X
  16. Hi, I have an 18 year old dependant child who is in full time education but works part time Is this going to cause an issue adding her as a dependant ? she is contracted for 16 hours per week at weekends and is at college full time during the week. I still buy all her food, pay the bills, pay for her driving lessons, clothes etc. the money she earns is just her going out and buying herself extras... She definitely could not live independently on her wage but I keep reading that a dependant having a job of any sort may cause issue... Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this situation??? Any advice would be fab Thanks Gayle
  17. @SCOTTISH STACEY. Dundee uni do an online access to uni course - thats how I got into nursing as I didnt have the qualifications either.. They also do a summer school which is full time but you do get £500 at the end of it which they dont advertise. The online course is free if you can give reasons that you didnt excel at school, I spoke nicely to my doc and he very kindly wrote me a letter stating I had problems in my teenage years - this saved me hundreds of pounds! Dundee Uni course is also only 3 years to get your diploma & degree . Also there are a few girls who came straight into 2nd year after completing an HNC in healthcare... these girls are also guaranteed a job for a year unlike the rest of us.. Hope that helps x
  18. Hi midwife momma, Im in a similar situation (mature student) moving out without experience except I will be on my partners visa rather than getting one on my own merit. Im finding the whole applying for what and when to apply quite daunting.. Any suggestions or tips on how to do things would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  19. Hiya, Thanks for the reply. We aren't planning on going until the end of 2014... Do you know if letter from my daughters college will be required to state she is in full time education.. at the moment she is 6th year and undecided on a college course as yet.. Guess im just worried incase she doesnt get into a course until Jan rather than Sep Would def throw a spanner in the works... Does anyone know how much it costs to apply for a PR visa after having a temp one and living in Oz for a couple of years? Guess we will just have to weigh it all up... Ah the joys! Roll on the end of 2014!!
  20. Hi, My boyfriend already has his PR visa. We were going to add me as a de-facto partner and include my daughter who is 17 as a dependant. We are now having a baby of our own (due in June) and my questions are Should we wait until after the baby is born to apply for my de-facto visa - this would mean we have been living together over 2 years and together for almost 4 so I could possibly get a permanent visa rather than temporary??? However; If we do wait until the baby is born, my daughter will be 18 and possibly not in full time education although she will be waiting on a college course starting... She doesn't work and is fully dependant on us financially. Is being 18 a cut off for dependants? Im unsure which avenue is best for us all, apply now or wait.... Any advice re our situation would be gratefully appreciated
