  1. I applied for a 482 4 year visa in late February through a migration agent with a view to moving and starting my job in late April. My visa still hasn't arrived and I'm wondering if anyone else has also experienced delay in receiving this visa? And if so, how long they were waiting. The DHA website timelines say 75% of applications are dealt with within 3 months and I am told by the migration agent that they can't provide any estimate beyond the processing times on the DHA website. My employer needed to apply to be a sponsor which may have delayed things but this was approved in April. The only person I know who has also applied for this visa is a doctor and, while they applied after me, their visa has been granted. I'm basically looking for some reassurance from others who have recently applied for this visa that it will arrive soon as I'm in limbo at the moment.
  2. Hi, I hope that everyone is managing to stay safe and well during this time! I had a couple of questions that I just can't seem to find the answers to online, all I seem to find is a lot of conflicting information... I would be so grateful if anyone has gone through the 189/190 application process and could offer some advice! I was recently invited to apply for a 190 visa (VIC) as a secondary school teacher. I've finished the application and I need to attach documents to support my application before I can send it off. My first question is regarding document certification, is it mandatory? I remember on my previous visa it asked for certified documents, but I just uploaded copies that weren't certified e.g. passport, payslips, letter from employer etc, a case officer did ask me for additional documents but never mentioned anything about certification. Visa was granted shortly afterwards. I was planning to certify everything that was an official document like passport, birth certificate, degree certificates and transcripts etc. But there is some evidence that I'm going to struggle to get "notorized" or "certified" like my evidence of skilled work experience, I've got letters from my old schools on the letter head etc but I don't know how I'd get this certified as it's not an official document like a passport or certificate... Also with my skills assessment from AITSL, they only ever provided me with an electronic copy and an ID number (they only asked for ID number in my EOI). I rang AITSL and they said that the online copy is what you attach to your visa, I guess it'd be easy enough to check as it has the ID number. But again, this conflicts with the request for certified copies. My second question was regarding my evidence for skilled employment, on the form it says: This may include a certified copy of your employment contract, a letter/statement from your business/employer or work reference. I have the letter/statement from both jobs stating the dates, what I did, that I was full time and that I took no leave etc. I do have old contracts/job offer letters but they don't show too much other than the start date and salary, as they were both ongoing contracts. Is just a letter enough? Again it just feels a bit flimsy given that it's not certified. In the letter it has contact details of the school and invites them to get in touch if they have any questions. Just can't seem to find any straight answers anywhere, anyone I manage to get a hold of doesn't seem sure or tells me conflicting information! Would really appreciate if anyone has any experience or has been through this process or a similar one! Thanks in advance!!
  3. Hi Does anyone know the email address for second stage partner visa 801 in Melbourne please (for permanent residency)? I have seen a previous thread that has the following email address but I think it is just for the ACT: act.ssp.processing@immi.gov.au I'm in Melbourne so the Melbourne office would be processing it. I haven't been assigned a CO as yet so thought I would see if I could get an update on if I was anywhere near to being assigned one. Thanks Smiler:biggrin:
  4. Hello, if you are like me and interested in how long it is taking the high commission in London to process applications for Spouse, Defacto and interdependency (Subclass 309 via the 47SP application), then please add your details to this thread. 12weeks is their standard quoted time but it seems some are granted much faster, especially if front loaded (Medicals and police checks completed prior to submission). Please add your details if you submitted a 47sp Application for Subclass 309 Spouse visa, including the following information: Application Submitted: Case Officer (C/O) Email: Visa Granted: Please also include any additional information, like if you front loaded your application (ie, included your police checks and medicals), and also any additional information that may be useful (like if you were asked to complete an 80 form, if and what type of interview was required). If there is a better thread out there on this topic, Please paste a link to it.. Here is a short history I have gathered so far: (Sorry If I missed yours! 5. Hello everybody, first of all let me apologise If I have started a new topic where I shouldn't have, I have never used forums before. . I submitted the nomination and application for 186 direct entry on Jan 21 2017 as a graphic post press trades-person. I have been waiting for 13 months and my lawyers have not been contacted once ! The only thing my lawyers always say is to wait. This uncertainty is nerve wrecking , also this occupation apparently is no longer on the list. Does anyone knows if this affects the application and / or processing times? Do we know if the processing times for 186 direct entry vary according to occupation. Thanks in advance for any info.. Any advice would be appreciated. I have posted this message in other topics but I don't have not received one reply, so my best guess is that It is in the wrong section of the forum. This wait is really affecting me and my dependant.
  6. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone on here has had their 457 visa priority processed recently and if so how long it took to be granted from the time the priority processing request was accepted? My partner has been sponsored by the business he works for and we submitted our 457 application back in the middle of May 17. We put in for a priority request just over a week ago due to circumstances that have made our application more urgent, we had the priority processing approved, but still haven't had the visa granted. Just looking for other people's experiences/ timelines. TIA ?
  7. Hey, Long time lurker here. Long post, sorry, a mixture of nervous and excited. Having been rejected for me me dream job on my Birthday just before Xmas, I was surprised last week to wake up to an offer email. I had spoken to the hiring manager who decided to overrule the decision. Im awaiting to finalise negotiating when the manager is back off sick leave (he has no voice to negotiate with!). Meanwhile I’m trying to clarify visa options to help negotiate. Im in a weird situation, where my job doesn’t actually fit any ANZSCO code directly as I’m in a niche sciency engineeringy service, but would be managing an APAC business unit in the mining sector. I could directly match one on the Long Term (Corporate General Manager) if they accept I’m being promoted based on technical and business ability, but haven’t directly held the position before. I see the skills assessment wants details on current job organogram and number of direct reports.... I have a weird job / company and don’t have either! Or I’d fit corporate services manager - but that’s a short term list role. I am am also a chemist and an process engineer (degree in each) and would probably pass skills test in either discipline. I’ve asked the HR to contact their MARA with job descriptions and my CV and advise what ANZSCO code they would advise as suitable, and I’ve done a lot of reading. As I won’t hear back for a while (MARA is on hols) I’d appreciate some advice. I’m fretting and googling like mad. Anticipation, anxiety and excitement are killing me. 1) Do they skills assess every role, or do they trust the companies judgement in hiring a suitable candidate? (I’m suitable due to expert knowledge in a field that doesn’t exist on ANZSCO and they can’t hire locally, but not managerial experience) 2) If I we’re to go in a short term 2 year, can it be renewed and is there any chance of PR? Is the TSS going to be any better? Chances are after 4 I’d be moving off to another expat role unless I find he love of my life and finally settle and marry. (I thank the plebiscite and the wonderful voters for my ability to marry in Australia, sorry about the cost!) 3) I assume starting the role managing remotely doing business trips for a couple of weeks every few months whilst awaiting a visa would look dodgy? (I’ve used my WH visa, and have only been on one further business trip recently). 4) Some friends of mine just got intercompany transfers on 457 in 3 weeks, is there any way a MARA can push through? Waiting 88 days or up to 8 months before handing in my notice would drive me mad! Any advice welcome, and look forward to meeting some of you for a schooner or three.
  8. Hi all, hope whoever is reading this is well, Has anyone had their 417 Working holiday visa denied? I applied for a 417 Working Holiday Visa (I'm a pommie) and on the form it asked if i have ever overstayed my visa in a country, which unfortunately i have done, when i was in Taiwan 2014 (obviously not meaning to- forgot to renew my visa so I went to renew it and turned out I had to renew this visa outside of the country and i had actually already overstayed so I flew home and paid a fine at the airport before leaving). My visa has not been approved/denied yet but I know Australia is strict on not wanting possible overstayers and I've read in many posts people (Brits) getting their visas approved in minutes. So, I am wondering if I'm going to end up waiting the 36 working days to find that my visa will be denied, because of my Taiwan overstay! Anyone been in this position before and had their visa approved (or denied), albeit in the 36 working day processing time frame? I've been granted a student visa before when i studied in Australia for 3 years (2010-2013) and didn't breach any rules on my visa there, so hoping that counts for something? Thanks in advance for any insight on the situation- I'm just very excited to get started on my aussie adventure but now worrying my visa won't be granted! Naomi
  9. Here is the link to the latest visa application processing times published by the DIBP http://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/global-visa-citizenship-processing-times
  10. hi all, Just got an email from our migration agent who were in contact with the ACT government who say - the state sponsorship visa application processing times are currently between 30 - 60 WORKING days (which id say is anywhere between 6 - 12 weeks). Shir.
  11. Has anyone recently had their skills assessment back from ANMAC / ANMC? I submitted everything 16 weeks ago and I am still waiting.:mask:
  12. Hi, These questions are purely because I am inpatient but can anyone tell me if it actually takes 8 weeks for a 457 visa to be processed or is that the maximum time it coudl take? Also do you always need medicals with a 457? And police checks? Its torture waiting to hear back about the visa application and everything else we have to do is all based on when and if the visa is granted. Someone put me out of my misery please!
  13. Can anyone enlighten me as to the processing times at the mo for a 119 visa, it has all be submitted to Diac. Now the normal response via the website is 5-7months but on the government website current processing times are between 8-12wks. It was submitted on the 6th Jan '11. Thank you. simon
  14. Hi guys, I have recently received my AHPRA reg (slow painful process!). We are hoping to be in Australia (Queensland) next April/May (ish). We are putting our house on the market immediately after xmas and hoping for a fairly quick sale! Im currently in talks with two hospitals who seem keen to interview me during their next recruitment drive which will be Jan/ Feb I believe. Both have said they can offer sponsorship. My question is 'has anyone recently gone through the 457 process?' How long does it take from beginning to end? Just wondering if we are being unrealistic in hoping that we can come out by April/May? Also I understand that as a nurse I need to have a full medical, but as my partner and two children will be on the visa too, will they need a modified medical? Any experience on this would be appreciated! Thanks, Emma x

    ENS 856 Processing Times

Hey Guys My VISA was Lodged with Parramatta DIAC in Mid December for the above Perm Residency subclass and I have received today my first step Nomination approval. Does anyone know how long it will take after this first step approval for the full thing to be approved? I'm getting annoyingly vague estimates from many people. Thanks for your help in advance. Craig
  20. Hi, The agent lodged my ENS Sub 856 application with decision ready checklists about 1 and half months ago. Does anybody tell me how long the whole processing time for PR approval will be in normal situation? Many thanks in advance.
  21. Hi There I've just applied for subclass 100 (PR) from a Subclass 309 (provisional resident) visa. I've been living onshore for 15 months. I'm told the processing times are 6-8 months. Does anyone have any experience with this process? Did it really take that long? Cheers
  22. Hi All! After almost a year of paperwork and stress with slow agents and numerous mind-changes about where to apply (Perth or Adelaide) we have been given what could be a fantastic opportunity. A friend has offered to sponsor my husband in NSW (which would have been our first choice!) So..... All great in theory. However, our dilema is that after doing the VETASSESS and passing the IELTS we still assumed it would be ages until anything happened as we were applying for state sponsorship initially. My husband had a job interview here in the UK on Thursday and accepted it. Then on Friday we got the call to say our friend in Oz will sponsor him. Now we don't know whether to still take the job here which starts on Monday, or carry on as we were? I hear the 121/856 visa can happen very quickly! My husband already has a job here, so is it crazy to start a new one? Does anyone have a good idea of timing/processing on the visa 121/856 or even the 457? Oh how I wish he'd been offered the ENS a year ago! Cheers! Lucy

    Processing times for child visa

Hi Just wondering if anyone had made a child visa application (101) in the last year or so? I have seen a couple of references to it on here that it take a long time. But can't find anything recent. To be honest I only just found out that we needed this visa today. We are emmigrating next year. My 1st child was born before we received our subclass 136 visas so we just filled in a form & he was added. Thought it would be the similar for the little one but apparently not:arghh: I am totally:cry: at the cost too. Back in 2006 we paid about £1300 for our entire application (I know it's more like £4500 now) but to pay that amount again just to add a toddler seems crazy! I'm panicing now that we will have to delay everything for his visa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    ACS Processing Time

Hello folks, As a comparison and out of interest, how long did those of you having a skills assessment done by the ACS have to wait to hear back? We are praying that we won't have to wait the estimated 12 weeks as we are pushing our timescales with the changes in July. Did anyone email to try and speed things up? We have a password to login to see how our application is progressing but apprarently it doesn't often get updated. Your experiences would be appreciated. Nicky x
