  1. I nearly moved to Barrow in 1988 as my former husband worked for VSEL. Back then there were some good honest hard working people there due to the 15,000 VSEL employed. Such a shame as I quite liked the town.
  2. When we stayed in London on our last trip we stayed in a Premier Inn close to the London Eye. Couldn't fault it.
  3. We have 1 iMac, 2 Macbooks, 1iPad and 3 iPhones. If it's not Apple it doesn't get in the house
  4. 20 degrees here in Perth yesterday and I had a fleece and uggs on Enjoy the warm weather UK folk and hopefully everyone stays safe.
  5. you can buy pickled pork in Woolies and Coles.
  6. I actually feel a bit sick!
  7. Why each way, last time I went out in the City we took the train there and got an $80 cab home. Only $20 each between the 4 of us.
  8. Absolute nonsense. You really do talk some poop sometimes.
  9. I believe it was moved due to being so close to Foundation Day (now WA Day)
  10. Sorry to hear of all the sadness here today, my thoughts are with all of you. My daughter's best friend took her own life 3 years ago and my own daughter attempted it almost 2 years ago. It is a horrible thing with so many people affected. Big hugs all around.
  11. Cetaphyl is fantastic and has a range of products. Charlize Theron and Amanda Holden recently admitted to being users of this product. My daughters have sensitive skin and use this to wash their faces and bodies in the shower.
  12. It's not happening in Herefordshire or Stratford ergo it's not happening......
  13. My daughter was born in Canada, has a British because of me and is now an Australian citizen. All is fine.
  14. It's a tricky time for primary teachers in WA at the moment. This is the first year that year 7 has been high school and not primary so there are plenty of local, experienced primary teachers currently struggling for work.
  15. We have done 3 international moves and never had an issue. So sorry to hear what has happened and hope you get it sorted.
  16. We didn't return from Australia but we did return from Canada many moons ago before coming to Australia. My daughter who was 6 at the time settled into school with no issues. My ex and I found it hard but thats because we weren't in love with living in England and made plans to leave pretty much from the moment we arrived back. I think you will be fine given you actually want to be there.
  17. The picture is pie, mash and liquor. Definitely NOT a northern dish.
  18. Perhaps I have lost 'the great British sense of humour' because I just find your stereotyping ridiculous. Your implication that all people who enjoy living here are uneducated fwits is damned irritating.
  19. 5 years ago now P1P. I am sure that's the case but when I look at how a lot of my expenditure has doubled in 10 years it's a downside for me. It's not a deal-breaker because as I said it's my home.
