  1. Hi all, we are looking for your experience and knowledge in regards to the nightmare we are facing!! In January all of our beloved items that were shipped from the UK to Melbourne with what was advertised as an experienced International removal company that specialists in expert packaging. We started unwrapping our sofas and they were covered (thick) with mold This was the situation with everything in our container, see attached photos! I had to wash eight large vacuum bags of clothing, six suitcases and boxes of boots etc.....which are ruined as the mold returns on shoes and the smell stays on fabric items We had to pay for cleaning of items that were scrubbed before leaving us to be packaged but because they chose to dismantle our bikes (without asking) it exposed inside dirt. We had to replace missing parts of our bike as they had lost them. We took out the insurance that the company recommended but it didn't cover mold. I have argued that the mold is due to the container and its packaging which the company are responsible for. They (CEO) had responded returned my emails saying that they have to go through their insurance and companies shareholders etc before agreeing to paying us our claim. After three emails that have been ignored over the last month i don't know what to do next?! PLEASE HELP!
  2. HELP!! We have been let down by a property that we were going to rent and we land in Melbourne next week!! We are looking to rent a fully furnished 2bed from the 6th of December till the 15th of January. Do you know of any available and if so how much? If poss, within 45mins drive to Sunshine, west of Melbourne Thank you for reading! Anna
  3. Hi Katrol, The Company that is sponsoring us applied to become a sponsorship company on the 30th of June and was rewarded sponsorship status on the 19th of September (can vary on time, our company is large so a lot more to look through). They then lodged stage 2 and 3 on the 20th of September and have received correspondence from a case officer today asking them for more info. They said it is taking an average of 4 weeks to complete a 457 if the company already has status to sponsor....like others have said every case is different, it will be quick if they have been provided with everything they need! The wait is really hard, i do feel your pain!! With so much to sort this end i am grateful for the delay as it is a big step and a lot to organise  Good luck with it all. The4larkins
  4. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could advise me on a question in the 457 visa. The question asks, if the visa is denied would i like to appeal or withdraw....my worry is....would it be wise to appeal or if i did and then it was refused again, would that prevent me from applying for another visa at a later date? Also another quick one, do you fill out both Guaranteed annual earnings or base rate of pay.....and should this include the super package on Guaranteed part (still trying to get my head around this package/tax stuff) or not? Any help would be great, thanks in advance
  5. Hi, Here's our story so far.... My OH has been offered a job as Mechanic Trainer on a 457 with a company who is not yet registered for sponsorship. The application for sponsorship was applied for on the 30th of June and they only wanted to start with stage1 and leave the nomination and us applying till they receive the go ahead to sponsor. The Immi department requested more info from them in the 3rd week of July and they submitted it at the end of July, we are yet to hear any news. After a concerned email to his new employers that our house is ready to proceed with a sell and that we have been holding off on our end and we need to push forward with the other stages, they have finally agreed to do it without the results from stage 1....do you think think this will speed things up? Our big concern is... The job was advertised as Mechanic trainer (but can be a qualified Mechanic willing to train), my husband is currently employed as this at a college in the UK. He is a trained Mechanic to a level 3 which was completed in April 2013 and has completed his first part of his assessing qualification in July 14 (level 3). What would be the best occupation for them to put him through as for the skills assessment...Mechanic or Vocational Trade Assessor. His work experience is that of a Mechanic within the College workshop from April 2013 till October 2013 when they took him on as a lecturer. Whilst studying Mechanics (Level 3) he worked voluntary at a garage for a year. Will he be ok? From what i've read, being from the UK he doesn't need to be assessed on a 457 as a mechanic ....is this true for Vocational Trade assessors too? Or am i completely wrong? Really want to go ahead with the sell of the house so it all ties in together, which means we can all go over at the same time ....wishful thinking? Hope someone can help :notworthy: Anna

  10. Hi Lynsey, my husbands sponsoring company lodged their application for approval on the 30th of June and are holding back for the nomination and application process till they have been approved.....any ideas on this time scale? Finding it very hard to be patient Good luck with your application! Anna
  11. Hi everyone, I am very new to this but have been dreaming of emigrating for sometime. I have found that my occupation of a Post office Manger is on the Skilled list for ACT and is classed as 'open'. My queries are as follows: Am i right in thinking that i have to provide 5 advertisements to support my application? If so, i have found this difficult to find just one lol! I do the IELTS test (need for points) and have my skills assessed before i lodge my application for ACT SS? With the skills assessments, i worked in this industry a year an half ago for 7 years in three separate offices but only have some wage slips for last post. How do i prove my pay for two other posts of employment (other then reference letter)? What should i get ready and how long does it take as i turn 33 in May and don't want to lose those vital points! What is ACT like for families? i have two daughters aged 10 an 7. Thank you for reading!!

  13. Thanks for reply Caz, whats 'rpl'? Completely new to the whole process Cheers
  14. Hi was wondering if anyone would be able to advise. My husband has just finished a Level 3 in Automotive Mechanics, he has two years on job training and a year p/t Mechanic experience. Would TRA find him 'skilled', i did read on their website that you need a level 3 or 3 years experience without qualification. Is this correct? How can you be unsuccessful? Cheers
  15. Hi this is my first post and not to sure if i have posted in the right area but here goes! Myself (31), husband (37) and girls (7,10) are looking to permanently migrate to Perth. We are slightly concerned on what visa or route to go down due to our occupations. I hold a Level 3 in Early years Childcare and Learning qualification (have only just received) but have only worked as a 1:1 Teaching assistant and PA for respite to families with disabled children...could this qualification be used for Child Care Manager? My Husband is a Mechanic Level 2 and three months away from completing his Level 3. He currently works as a Student support assistant in a workshop for a local college as well as part-time mechanic in a garage (he has only two years voluntary work experience until last month when he received these positions). So we are unable to have points for work experience, limiting us unless we achieve an 8 on IELTS exams (from reading posts on here i believe that it is very difficult to achieve, so i do not want to but my husband under that pressure as he is dyslexic) . We are financial able to show we can support ourselves for 3 months. Really don't want to wait another three years to apply and then find our/his trade is not in demand, also the girls are at a good age for adjustment. My first question is if my qualification can be put forward for Child Care Manger and i only score a 7 on IELTS, could i go for a State Sponsorship on my husbands trade as mine is not on Western Australia's demand list? The 5 points would be needed! Second question, should we be fortunate enough to receive a work sponsor, does Western Australia charge for education if on a temp (457) visa? We have thought about using an agent to help with this but i'm sure once we know the route we could go down after the hubby qualifies, we will be able to deal with the process....every penny counts! Sorry if long winded with little info for response but i think i've covered all the details of the situation we're in. Thank you for reading and i look forward to your response
