Alan Collett
13 minutes ago, MaggieMay24 said: Your visa grant notice should include a "Must enter by" date which would be 5 years from the date the visa was granted. This is when the entry rights on your visa expire so you'd need another visa (e.g. RRV) or become a citizen before that date in order to re-enter Australia if you travel overseas. Not quite right. The must enter by date is (usually) 12 months from the earlier of the date of medical examinations and police clearance certificates. Subclass 143 visas also have a "cannot arrive after" date, which is 5 years from the date the visa was granted. In other words the travel facility on a 143 visa expires after 5 years. Best regards.
Peter2
Hi all, further documents were requested from us and were sent to them on Aug 27, but there is no confirmation that they have received it. Is that normal? Also, the submitted police clearance and medical will expire late December. What should we do now?

Best regards. Hi @Alan Collett, We were asked for that since December last year, but our AoS process has been 8 months long. Further documents (form 80, etc) were requested on Aug 6 and submitted on Aug 27, but no response so far. Thanks

If not maybe make enquiry directly of the PVC. Maybe ask whether the Department can please defer the initial entry date by 3 months in view of the delay in finalising the AoS. Or re-do police clearances and the medical examinations. Best regards.

For us, once it was received at Northbridge the visa was issued the same day. The delay was for the registered mail to get there - took nearly a week!
