Thank you Greece, that’s what I thought but couldn’t get it confirmed at the moment. Hopefully in the next few months.

So happy to hear you are finally in Australia even though you had to go straight into self isolation... you made it. Did you have any problems entering on your visa as the government closed the boarders on the 21st March. I’m only asking as we have the Visa Grant but haven’t validated it yet ... we were due to fly 8th April but fights were cancelled as we live in Spain we are also in lockdown. Just like to know when they are flying again would we be able to enter Australia on our 143 visa without any problems. Big congrats to you and your family . Shelagh

Hi Linda, We used Global Corporate Relacations they are a UK firm but based in Spain. Christopher Rosemeyer is who we dealt with. Excellent customer service definitely worth a call. I’m hoping once they start flying again we will be allowed enter as although we haven’t validated our visa it is a permanent resident visa. Our dog is our main concern at the moment as her vacations and blood tests are all time sensitive. Still we have waited more than 4 years now, and at least we have our Visa. Stay safe. Shelagh
  4. I agree with you SusieRoo, definitely better as one forum. We are in the same predicament as you although we live in Spain... we have a dog going through the process at the moment. She was due to fly on the 1/4 and we were flying on the 8/4. Now we are in lockdown until at least 14/4 and her final blood tests were done on 13/3 so will probably expire and need to be started again. Although we haven’t managed to sell our house, I did sell my car and hired one for a month so not a good decision. Crystal Ball comes to mind!! Good Luck but most of all Stay Safe.

Thanks for that info Marisawright, I will try and get official clarification on that when things calm down a bit. I have my visa grant and was due to fly on the 8th of April before the flight was cancelled. Also I live in Spain and we went into lockdown on the 16th March until the 30th but it's now been extended to 14th April so maybe once the lockdown is lifted we may be allowed to finally fly once the flights are available again. We have the added complication of taking our dog who had her final blood tests on the 13/3 and must fly in 45 days from then or start the blood tests again. The furniture etc was collected last Friday so will arrive in Australia before us. Wasn't expecting anything like this after waiting 4 years for the Visa.

Will you be allowed enter Australia now that it’s in lockdown. Are you classed as a permanent resident before it’s validated?

I think you would be better asking the question on the other thread... The brand new P1O thread as you are more likely to get an answer. Good Luck

I know that feeling as we live in Spain and always fly to UK first and overnight in a hotel as it takes far too long flying from Spain. Less than 2 months now for us and we will be in Adelaide permanently. Keep Smiling

You will get there, I understand completely how frustrating it is putting our lives on hold especially when Grandchildren are growing up without us. I always tried looking at flights for my next trip just after I got back from visiting them, it gave me something to look forward to.

Sorry Spikey but as your name implies you are Spikey! 173 applicants have waited a long time to get their 173 visa and are entitled to their 143 as soon as they can get it... they are not scuppering your 5 year timeline at all as 2019 applicants are realistically looking at a much longer wait than 5 years.

Hi Erica, Each case can differ as it use to be dependent on medicals and police reports still being in force, as they only last for 12 months some people only got a couple of months or less to validate their Visa. We had our medicals done in August 2019 our Visas were granted 29th November and we have until 29/11/2020 to validate.

Looking at the time lines and also personal experience it’s the one that completes all the requirements first.

Hi NatS259, My son also has an account with CommBank and deposited the $14000 beforehand but still had to pay $150. He like you was told by staff there was no why round it and everyone had to pay. Blackwood /Adelaide. Good Luck I hope you get round it.

No... I just went into my App and raised the limit there and then.. I bank with CommBank so perhaps different banks have different rules. Good luck

Hi NatS259, Yes $43,600 is correct, we paid via Bpay and sent and emailed the receipt to home affairs... the Visa Grant was issued within 12 hours.
