Elle Kay
At long last we have received our 143 parent visa. it has taken 6 years and 2 months. best of luck to those who continue to wait. timeline, applied August 2016. June 2022 request to get medicals. July 2022 request for police certificates. august 2022 AOS paid October 2022 visa granted. the delay between AOS and grant of visa was apparently caused by an error between payment of $14,000 and it being sent to the relevant place! Irritating but all over now. best of luck to those who are still waiting.

Elle Kay
Thank you, it has been a l o n g wait! once your AOS has been paid it doesn’t take long for. Them to request the second instalment - be aware that most of the suggested ways to pay means you are hit with a surcharge for transferring the money. I transferred the cash to my AOS who then paid it on my behalf. I hate paying more than I need to for anything - ))

tostar
Hi, my parents have a 143 that was received by the parent visa centre on 10 May 2017 is this the lodgement date or is the date later in the month when they received the acknowledgement letter the lodgement date? Is immigration currently asking for health checks or was it put on hold during covid times? Anyone have an estimate as to how far away they are from the request letter? It’s the date you applied and lodged not the acknowledgment date. Still being asked for health checks and police checks. Don’t think it was ever stopped as it’s very important. Its likely you won’t hear anything until after next June 2023 - ie the next financial year. Depends how far in May you applied as May and June had 9000 applications! For a rough idea try here and change the amount of visas being processed to about 7500 https://www.gm-parent-visas.com/visa-processing-time-calculator/ Edited November 10, 2022 by LindaH27

purplealster
After a nightmare with Centrelink, I am heading to the Commonwealth bank tomorrow to sort out the bank guarantee, however, the request letter doesn't state what documents I need to take with me - is anyone who has been through the process able to advise? Many Thanks in advance.
tostar
For the AoS you should only need to bring the Centrelink letter, your passport and any documents they require to open a bank account

tostar
Hi does anyone know how long it takes to get an assurance of support completed? Is there a backlog at Centrelink?

Garryy
Hello everyone, Can we pay 2nd VAC from 3 different cards (part payments) ? Thanks indeed
PiK
Hello, Still waiting to be asked 2nd VAC. Like Garryy - if someone would share what payment options are available - Bpay, bank transfer or card payment? Is there a card processing fee being charged as extra - it would be huge if so? TIA
