Thank you, it has been a l o n g wait! once your AOS has been paid it doesn’t take long for. Them to request the second instalment - be aware that most of the suggested ways to pay means you are hit with a surcharge for transferring the money. I transferred the cash to my AOS who then paid it on my behalf. I hate paying more than I need to for anything - ))

At long last we have received our 143 parent visa. it has taken 6 years and 2 months. best of luck to those who continue to wait. timeline, applied August 2016. June 2022 request to get medicals. July 2022 request for police certificates. august 2022 AOS paid October 2022 visa granted. the delay between AOS and grant of visa was apparently caused by an error between payment of $14,000 and it being sent to the relevant place! Irritating but all over now. best of luck to those who are still waiting.

Should only take a few days after AOS finance submitted. I am now in receipt of my visa. . Happy days.

Applied August 2016. Heard nothing until June 2022. June 2022 medicals and police checks done. it took until August 2022 before my Assurer was contacted. subsequently….. Centrelink somehow overlooked the AOS and accompanying finance! This led to another delay while my Assurer tried to contact them. Hardly satisfactory and if I hadn’t been concerned about the length of time it was taking I would still be waiting. Now my Assurer has a letter confirming finance etc and centrelink should (should…) tell Immi. Then it seems that when another month or so has passed I should be asked to make the final payment for the visa to be granted. Fingers crossed.

I wish I knew. Our AOS has gone through the ID process and has submitted the $14000 bank guarantee. That was almost 7 weeks ago.

Hi RJ27 good that you have now received some communication. We Applied offshore for a 143 contributory parent visa in August 2016 and only received the request to proceed with medicals and police reports this year - 2022. They were completed in August and our AOS was submitted with the payment of $14000 at the beginning of August 2022 and still we wait. As you will know the initial payment of AUD$ xxxx for 1st applicant and AUD$ xxxx for the 2nd applicant is made when your application is submitted and though someone said the cost for contributory parent visa isn’t $120000 - it certainly is! Contributory parent visas cost a LOT of money and consists of two separate payments. As there is no way of knowing how long it might now take for a visa to be granted we simply have to wait for Immi to contact us with a request for the final instalment. Frustrating to say the least and I feel for anyone who might have started the process recently.
