It would be interesting to know how many are still in the queue before us so as to have a wild guess at when the call will probably come. % of people dropping out due to change of plans, Poor health and folk unfortunately no longer with us must be higher than usual.

Many thanks, I think the government pension will just be paid into a Uk account when I reach that grand old age . The company / private pensions will need a bit of sorting am sure. i was also unaware that there were additional costs involved purchasing a house on a 173 visa - would anybody know what the % is ?

Still a way to go for us yet but need to start thinking about tax and pensions I guess - gulp ! Is it better to just leave any pensions you have until retirement age and then take them or transfer across when you emigrate ? Are there companies that advise on all financial implications with a reasonable cost as this emigration malarkey is quite expensive:) thanks in advance folks

Although I am not yet a year in the waiting room ,reading some of the previous posts there is going to be a lot of uncertainty, worry , heartache , expectation , delay s and a lot of patience required . We have 3 Aussie grandkids of which two I haven’t met yet ( although this will change soon ). I guess the golden rule is switch off as best as possible , sit back and allow what happens , when it happens to take its own course as we cannot change nor affect the outcome. Lets hope for some positive news in the end of September update . Wheres the Jack Daniels ? good luck all ?
