1. Id also be interested in knowing this, we are thinking of NSW from Perth.
2. Polly, we are in a similar position. Been in Perth 18 months and dont feel its the place for us. Work is great for hubby and the place is nice, weve got some amazing friends but theres things missing. Im not going to say we dont miss family, we do but thats not pulling us back to the uk. Think its the question of, education, stability, hubby is worried about will he ever be able to afford to retire here, whereas he would in the uk? we have 2 small children and although the 'outdoor' lifestyle is great and our 3yo can swim, thanks to being in our pool everyday, what else is there for them? Most of the summer its too hot to go out, so its only like being in the uk on a rainy day! ha. Oh i dont know, maybe we should try over on the east? Its so hard, decisions decisions, and expensive ones at that!
3. I found out i was pregnant a month after our medical. I informed our CO only as we were going out there earlier than initially thought and it actually helped in processing the visa a little quicker (in my opinion). Although there is no need to tell them unless you plan on having your baby in the uk, then it has to be added to your visa. Im now in Oz and will be having this little one here.
4. Hi Nicola, We went to Bridgewater for our medicals in July and they were great. We, meaning my daughter (22 months at the time) and myself. All we took was our passports and passport photos (i think) but for piece of mind ask them when you book your appointment. They were so helpful and friendly, dont be afraid to ask questions, i did ! As you'll have to have a chest x-ray it is easier if you have someone with you to look after your little ones but if not there are staff available to help you out, i'd let them know though, the x-ray doesnt take long. The examination itself took 30 mins for the two of us. The little ones examination is nothing, its basic, height, weight, eyes, limb and spine check over. The stuff you'd get done at your doctor/midwife. Think thats everything... if not im sure someone else will fill in the missing bits As for your police clearance checks, you have to send the originals in along with a copy and a self addressed envelope. They will then return the originals to you. Hope i've helped you out and not confused you ! Good luck Sam
5.

Hi there, Saw your message about spouse visas and medicals. I've got SV as my CO, if the letter states dont do them for 3 months then i wouldn't bother, im pretty sure she will remind you nearer the time, even ask her to, why not <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/wink.png" alt=";)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Good luck with it all. Sam

6. Emdemp, We applied for 100/309 and we''ve just been told we'll be getting subclass 100 (permanent) me and our little girl. My OH is British but has his Oz PR visa, we're not married and have been together 4 1/2 years. So im guessing if we get permanent residency im sure you will. Still takes 6 months to process though.
7. I have received TWO lovely emails. One yesterday and one today from my CO. Yesterday was to tell me we will be granted our visas, approximtely 6 months from application lodgement and today was to say we will be granted permanent residency :jiggy: So happy right now
8. We've gone with crown at just under £4200. They werent necessarily the cheapest but we really liked them and have heard great reviews. They been and packed up our home now and there is NO room left in that container, got our monies worth!
9. They did say that we'd have to leave the futon bed behind but my OH was having none of that so we've 'tried' to have a good clear out to create space for it. Just hope we've done enough. Suppose we'll find out tomorrow :wideeyed::smile:
10. We've got Crown coming on Thursday to pack up our home and im in major panic mode  Im looking around thinking 'surely i can get rid of some of this' but im looking blind. Any recommendations as to what to leave behind. Things you wish you didnt bring. We're taking pretty much everything as its all relatively new.
11. I've not heard of a phone interview so i'll be interested to hear what questions they do ask. Good luck with it
12. They say the average is 3 months, however, there is no chain so it can happen a lot quicker. If your buyers have their mortgage in place then i'd agree with Chardy in that it could happen in 6 but id say 6-8 wks to be on the safe side. From past experience though you and your buyer need to tell your solicitors you want a quick move and keep pestering them. It might annoy them but thats what you are paying them for. Good luck
13. My OH has his permanent residence visa but he still lives in the uk with us. So on my application i just provided a copy of his passport and the page that has the visa attached and in his personal statement he added the date he validated his visa. Good luck with the process
14. It took less than an hour for me and my daughter. The longest part was waiting for my x-ray, which wasnt long. So i'd say double that time and you'll be about right If you are going to Bridgewater Hospital they are lovely.
15. Country: England City: Manchester Name of clinic: Medmigration Clinic - Bridgewater Hospital Price Adult: £260 (includes HIV and chest x-ray) Permanent visa Price Child: £75 (under 11) £190 (11-14 years) Date: July 2012 Comment: Excellent ! Very happy with staff and Dr Smith was fantastic with our little girl.
16. Great positive update. Thank you  We've got the packers coming in 2 weeks so not long for us now and we're heading to WA. A bit concerned that your hubby is struggling to find work. Mine is a brickie to and he'll be the main provider  Where abouts are you? Sam
17. Hi K17, i would love to think that was the case but its not a automated response, unfortunately Oh well looks like you have a good one
18. Does anybody have SV for their CO ?? I have sent a couple of e-mails with updates (police checks posted, meds done etc) and have asked for advice on one or two small matters but all i get is a reply saying thank you for the updates. Im not sure if all CO are like this but ive not found SV very approachable/helpful, quite robotic really or is it me.. am i being too sensitive?
19. Hi Angeleyes81, My OH applied for his 176. On hearing everything was okay, police check, medicals etc he received a email stating he had 6 mths to validate his visa. His last date to do this was the 5th August. I was pregnant at the time due in the Sept and he asked whether the August date could be changed, they said no. So what im saying is, if you have said yes to September then you will have to go to Australia before the date they specify. If you cant before September, id recommend getting in touch with your CO asap. As for your visa being granted, i am under the understanding that once you have been given your validation date that is your confirmation of your visa as long as you validate in the given time. Im sorry i dont know about the health side of things. I am no expert but im sure someone will come on here knowing more about it. Good luck with everything
20. I paid £260 for permanent visa medical, including: x-ray, hiv test etc. I would ring a couple in your area before you my an appointment. Good luck!
21. Hiya Dave, Can i ask, did you apply on-line ? Im wondering as i've sent my OHs off using the on-line system, got a e-mail to confirm they'd received it and said there was a attachment showing his receipt and the 'consent' and 'proof of identity', however, the consent and proof of id was not attached. Since then ive had no joy getting a reply from them. Pain in the a** ! So what i was wondering was.... IF you did apply on-line, do you still have that e-mail which has the attachment that im missing. Not sure if its a standard document which requires filling in or not, plus have no idea what the point system is. Yes, im having a mare! Any help would be appreciated Sam
22. Ive got SV. Will be making appointment for medicals on Monday. Has anyone been to Manchester for their medical? IF you did, did you go to Bridgewater or Whalley Range clinic?
23. CO assigned today and e-mail received requesting medicals and police checks :jiggy: Need to get a police check for OH for Australia. He did one when he applied for his 176 but they're asking for another one. Im guessing so its a up to date one. I know he sent his other one off by post but had problems with payment as it has to be in dollars and cheques arent excepted unless its a oz bank! Has anyone done a Oz police check on-line?
24. I've flown with Singapore airlines and couldnt fault them plus the airport is amazing! Which helps killing time
