  1. Having spent the last few hours trying to navigate through include the "guidance information" I would agree that getting an agent is money well spent, however I think I have cracked it and hopefully it'll be much quicker and easier next year. This is my first year of having to do it as a non-uk resident and I have found myself very confused with the various terms involved. Thankfully I have an accountant here in Australia so can leave the whole declaring my UK income to him.
  2. Thank you for your prompt reply. I am not resident in the UK but still have some UK income from house rental hence needing to do the return.
  3. Hi, Does anyone know whether I need to declare my Australian income on my UK tax return? I have declared it and paid tax over here in Australia but do I also need to let HMRC know or I do I just declare my UK income? Thanks, Liz
  4. We organised our insurance through the travel agents, which was possibly an expensive way to do it. I think it was only valid for about 2-3 days after we arrived. I disagree with Quinkla, although you don't plan to miss your flight etc you are guaranteeing incase a family member gets ill and you need to delay, lost baggage etc. I felt it was worth it.
  5. Hi Andy, I posted it last Tuesday and they took the money on Friday from my credit card. Liz
  6. Hi Guys. It's great reading all your experiences and good to hear that the visa's seem to be coming through a bit quicker than stated. I sent my application off last week and payment has been taken, now just waiting to hear about CO etc. Is it possible to find out the type of visa you will be granted before it is issued? I have applied for a 309/100 however I will have some work restrictions unless I have PR so would love to be able to find out sooner rather than later so I can start looking for work properly and not worry about having to let anyone down. We have been married for 7 years and have 2 children (who have Aussie by descent citizenship) so I'm hoping for 100 but would love to know for sure. Liz

    spousal visa

I know we should be eligible but do people actually get it straight off. The advice I had was that they are only given out under very limited circumstance.

    spousal visa

Hi, I'm new to this site but am hoping to move out to Oz with my Aussie husband in about 18/12 time. It will be easier from a work point of view if I have PR so I have 2 questions: 1) does anyone actually get a permanent spousal visa from the start? (we have been married 6 years and have 2 children) 2) if I only get a temporary visa does the two years until it can become permanent start from when the visa is issued or when you enter Australia, ie if I apply now, can we remain in the uk for the 2 years and then apply for PR and move out? Thanks for your help, em
