  7. Hi Thanks Just wondered if there is anybody else who has applied for 176 family sponsored and if you would share your story/timeline..to give me some support as I am having a hard time waiting for it.. We were asked to go for medicals then I found out I was pregnant so it went on hold and now we are back in limbo it seems
  8. If i can just tell you our situation and then advice on the recent communication we received from CO would be great. We applied for 176 Family sponsored (mother in law) in June 2011. myself my other half and our daugter. May 2012 - they asked for all the evidence - he's a teacher so had to show all work experience aswell etc. End of May 2012 - they asked us to go for medicals (woohoo the end was in sight) however I was pregnant so we had to tell them and they put it on hold. October - baby born so we did all the neccessary paperwork to add her on (our whole application is paper not electronic and we have no migration agent) we then very naively thought they would ask us to go for medicals again and we would be there by now!! but they havent.. yesterday I emailed them as we hadnt heard anything, so just wanted to clairfy that the baby had been processed and this is the response: Thank you for your enquiry about the progress of your application. The documents for your child have been received. As at November 2012, the Skilled Australian Sponsored GSM category has a limited number of visa places remaining. In accordance with the Migration Program planning level and the priority arrangements, remaining visa places will be used for decisions on Skilled Regional subclass 489 applications which are family sponsored and other Skilled Australian Sponsored GSM applications currently in the final stages of processing. This includes subsequent entrant subclass 489 applications which are exempt from the priority processing arrangements. Your application is not in the final stages of processing and therefore is currently not being considered to fill remaining visa places. You will be contacted when we are ready to progress your application towards decision. What does this mean? we were thinking that we would have the visa by now and definitely within the 18months average processing time..does this mean that we will never get a visa?!? thanks for your help..we are desperate (along with many others i know) x
  9. hi' your CO will give you your hap and/or health trn' i asked my CO because i was in the same boat, it comes on a heslth examination letter fron CO i believe.
  10. Hi, the MIL lives in mango hill about ten mins walk from a lake, and every night there are cane.toads on the garden, presuming they have the same effect as frogs.
  11. Basically, if i can give you a bit of background and then any advice would be great. We applied on a 176 Family sponsored visa in June 2011. In May 2012 the CO asked us to go for medicals - I was pregnant so told the CO and they put it on hold until after the baby was born. So at the start of October we sent all the new info for the new baby to be added to the application and then got a reply saying it is being processed in line with priority processing times and to be patient so on and so forth...., - OH sent CO an email asking why we haven't been asked to go for medicals again and she replied: "Once I am able to proceed with your application I will request that you and your family undertake medicals in order to finalise your application" But I was wondering can we still go for our medicals without her asking for them again then when she asks we can be like da-dah here's one i made earlier kinda thing? we just want to get out to Australia as soon as possible Also ours was a paper application does this make any difference as we wont automatically be on e-health? thanks in advance. x
  12. Hi, If possible I am going to explain our situation and then if anyone can offer any insight that would be great. We lodged our paper 176 family sponsored skilled (OH a teacher) application in June 2011. Then we didn't hear anything for a long time, in April 2012 our CO started asking for further documentation to prove OH's teaching experience, that was all sent and then on May 18th we were requested to provide police clearance checks and medicals. This was when I found out I was pregnant so we put the visa application on hold until after our daughter was born, she was born 4 weeks ago, so we told our case officer - sent the forms for her to be added on and thought we would then be asked to go for medicals, however today we have received this email : "Dear Sir Thank you for your email. Your application is being dealt with in line with priority processing arrangements and you will be contacted when we are ready to make the decision. Priority processing arrangements enable the department to consider and finalise visa applications in an order of priority that the minister deems appropriate. Priority processing arrangements apply to current applications, including those like yours in the final stages of processing. Departmental case officers must follow the direction made by the minister about priority processing and cannot process applications outside of the set order. You can find out more about these arrangements at the webpage: www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sheets/24apriority_skilled.htm. You will be contacted again when additional information is required. We appreciate your patience in awaiting the outcome of this application." With no mention of going for our medicals? What does this mean? - I thought we were a whisker away from having our grant and we were hoping to be gone by christmas, but now I am not so sure. We are not using an agent so I have been looking on here for support and advice. Thanks x
  13. Hi, our application was on hold while i had baby, said baby has now arrived and we have her passport. and we are going to book our medicals once our CO gets back to us regarding health examinations list (we submitted a paper application so we have to wait for this) but with regards to medicals I have read on immi.gov and also on the hospitals website (bridgewater, manchester) and trying to work our what we need to take with us, is it just passports or are there forms we need to fill in as well? Also we have a toddler (aged 2) and a newborn - what does their medical entail? if anyone could share their experiences from bridgewater that would be great thanks p.s. one final unrelated question - we have received our police clearance certificates back - do we just scan these in and email them to our case officer - like we have been doing with other supporting documents in the past? x
  14. Hi, just wondered if anyone can shed some light on this, I have emailed my payroll department but still waiting for an answer. Basically, I am on maternity leave, but won't be returning to work as we will be leaving for oz before I am due to return. I wondered when I leave do I have to resign or can I wait until my maternity leave ends and thereby still receive smp even though not in the country? Thanks in advance x
