    how long for completion.

Hi guys--I've never sold a house in my life and have bought only one so I'm trying to get some insight into the timescale for conveyancing and completion. We've accepted an offer on our house yesterday(albeit 12k below what we paid for it). We were hoping to leave for Oz next month and haven't yet booked our tickets(which is a good thing now). How long does it have to take for completion etc. Is it possible in 4 weeks? BTW the buyer has no chain but needs a mortgage.
  2. Just wondering if anyone can help me set expectations for when our visa will be granted (assuming everything is all ok). Our meds are showing as "health requirements finalised" on the status page and we have uploaded all of the additional information requested by the CO. We are being processed by Megan Peachy of team 2 in adeleide. App was submitted on 4 feb this year and we were contacted by the CO about 1month ago. Visa is a 176 family sponsored. Many thanks
  3. Hi guys! I am planning to take the cert 3 in aged care in Melbourne early next year, Jan 2012 to be exact. So I am supposed to get a student visa that is good for 6 months. According to my agent, this is the easy way to get to Au if you did not meet the required score of 7 in all subtest in IELTS. But after reading some related blogs saying that having certificate 3 in aged care does not give you rights to get sponsorship for a visa to work as a personal care assistant, put me in dilemma if whether I will still take the Cert 3 in aged care or I should directly take the bridging course and wait for July 2012 because the bridging course classes starts just every January and July. I am aiming for a working visa then permanent visa eventually. So does anybody know if having completed the Aged care course will not be allowed to get a sponsorship? because if that is the case then I'll be sent back to my hometown, right? :unsure:Please help me on this! I badly needed your help. Thank you very much!
  4. Hi all, my student visa expires on mar 2012 but i managed to complete my course earlier due to credits from another course. Do i need to apply for a bridging visa or will the student visa remain valid till mar 2012. a bit confused as i am hearing different things from different people. I have yet to do ielts and ACS assessment so i cant apply for TR straight away Thanks.
  5. My cousin completed her course on 18th July 2010. Her course was of 2 years duration. We read somewhere that she had to apply for the 885 within 6 months of her course completion or does this apply only for bridging visa holders? Currently, she is on a student visa doing another course. Her student visa will expire in April 2011. My question is, can she apply for the 885 after 6 months' of her course completion as long as it is before April 2011?... or will she be in trouble because of the 6 month window... in her case, I am guessing she has to apply for the 885 before the 18th of January 2011? Is this right? We are so confused.
  6. Hi - can anyone share expereinces or make suggestions for these kind of situations:- Although I have been qualified on a Cert Ed in my teaching profession by UK standards for 7 years, Oz did not consider this a high enough qualification. To gain extra points for visa I had to complete a Degree (I never went to Uni) which I did in July 2009. I then sent my certificates and had a positive skills assesment. I now have the extra points required and approval of State Sponsorship. My agent has said that it would be better to wait for 12 months from the date of my Degree certificate as you are supposed to work 12 months within that profession ONCE qualified. This is so frustrating as I have 7 years experience in the profession as teacher and in Curriculum Management and now I have to wait again. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions as to what I can do?
  7. Hi Guys, I received this today from a PLE lodged 10 days ago: Dear Mr X, Thank you for your e-mail about your visa application under Australia’s General Skilled Migration programme. At this stage your visa application has not been allocated to a case officer. From 1 January 2009, the new Ministerial Direction gives priority processing to applications strictly in the following order: 1. employer sponsorship; then 2. State or Territory Sponsorship; then 3. an occupation on the Critical Skill List (CSL); then 4. Business Skills; then 5. an occupation on the MODL (Migration Occupation Demand List) 6. All other applications We are currently in the process of identifying and allocating all State or Territory Sponsored applications. In addition, allocation of cases with occupations on the CSL has commenced. CSL applications are allocated in date of lodgement order. To check current allocation dates, please send a blank email to: aspc.processing@immi.gov.au I can confirm that Adelaide are aiming to have all CSL applications allocated to case officers by the end of May 2009. Any further updates to our new processing priorities will be posted on the DIAC website at: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener.../whats-new.htm which we encourage you to review on a regular basis. For any further enquiries about the application you have lodged please refer to our website using the following link http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/visa...fessionals.htm We appreciate your patience. Yours Sincerely M. Germany General Skilled Migration - Brisbane Department of Immigration and Citizenship -------------- So I imagine they are still targetting May 2009 to deal with all CSL.
