  1. That you for replying though I am at a loss to know what 9 days has got to do with this?? I made my application 26 days ago. My medical was 24 days ago and the health requirements finalised 16 days ago, what is 9 got to do with my query? Or have I missed something?? I only wanted to know if more than a 2 week delay in making a decision was normal. I am already waiting longer than any 457 nurses I know and no way of contacting a CO to check if all is okay. I also know HR applicants who have got theirs in half this time.
  2. Application Status Application 457 Business Long Stay Primary 16/09/2012 Application received - processing commenced 16/09/2012 Application fee received 19/09/2012 Application being processed further View your receipt details Person 1 (me a nurse) 26/09/2012 Health requirements finalised 25/09/2012 Further medical results received 20/09/2012 Further medical results received 20/09/2012 Further medical results received 25/09/2012 HIV blood test received 25/09/2012 Hepatitis B antigen blood test received 25/09/2012 Hepatitis C antibody blood test received Is it usual for such a delay in approval for a 457 where there are no clear indications of referral or requests for further information (visa medical doctor said there were no issues at medical). We are all Irish passport holders and have lived in the UK (Northern Ireland for at least 20 years) so none of us from a HR country. I am getting concerned now that there is something wrong, any opinions?
  3. No OT jobs in Tas that I can see at the moment. Queensland have a few. some in NSW. two in WA.
  4. Hi what Allied Health profession are you in?
  5. I used graph paper and measured the furniture. We were going to take 2 new single beds, welsh dresser of my nans, console table, tumble dryer (brand new), and exercise bike. Then pack all the other belongings on top of these. Worth the £1000 or so, but no joy. We will leave this and see if they do provide a movecube from N Ireland next May 2013 like they said, as we are leaving a lot of breakables behind.
  6. We would have used the largest size but they do not offer the service from N Ireland, yet. We are using seven seas to ship clothes/bedding/TV/PC/Golf clubs and some household items like tupperware etc. 2 boxes by air, the rest by sea.
  7. Applied for visa 16.09.12 (Nomination granted 19.09.12) Medicals on 19.06.12, Health requirements finalised 26.09.12. still waiting.......

  10. the chemist takes our scripts when they fill them, that is why I'm not sure about having the medications and the scripts
  11. Sorry, but what do you mean by the scripts?

  20. The estate agent in Moree said I or someone on our behalf had to see the property before we could rent. My prospective boss offered to view on our behalf, which was very decent of her, she sent us photos and we were then able to apply to rent. Just waiting to see if this works out as we would like.
  21. Nothing compares to Aston Martins for me......... I only wish I could actually afford one.
  22. We live up a mile long lane, in the heart of the Ulster Way, it is a no through road, we love the peace and quiet of the country, a small town will be a good introduction to Oz for country hicks like us and we are really looking forward to the artesian spas.......thank you for the further recommendation Galahad
  23. We are moving to Moree in November. A little bit further out than you, and I know there is at least one fellow PIO family living there too.
  24. http://www.immunise.health.gov.au/internet/immunise/publishing.nsf/Content/Handbook-hepatitisb QLD also run a catch up for children in school/year 8 so not all children may not be vaccinated by then. It seems to me that if conscientious objectors can send their kids to school without vaccinations then it should mean you can send them with their first and get it as per the schedule without issue. I think but don't know if this is the case but it seems sensible.
