Yeah heading to Melbourne early April. Visited on holiday in the past and cant wait to get back out there. Team Crouch Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 You need either a university level degree or NVQ's/City & Guilds for construction, If you haven't got that you can have 3-5 years experience in the job and references, the job must also be on the current list. You can check the list on the Immigration website. Hope this helps. Thanks for advice.... Have spoken to quite a few people and it's a mixed bag, some say you can get a job and the others say you need qualifications... VISA GRANTED!! Only 12 days from submission of Nomination and our Application part. For those that are interested it was from Sydney Office also. My other halfs employer has many many employees on 457 and we know a few contacts at the company who have been visa approved in much less than the quoted time in the past 2 months. Since my other half is heading out there on his own for this initial 6 months then I was hoping for a little "delay" to keep him here as long as possible - or at least the expected 4-6 weeks!:cute: Hope all those Visa's start flooding in now for everyone :wubclub: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Revs30 - where are you off to? / what office is your application through? thanks! @Cazbob - MY wife applied for an advanced paractitioner job (social worker) through Reed in Melbourne. The job is with DHS NWR based just outside the City. DHS have nominated the visa and we are now just waiting for it to be approved. As it is a relocation package (flights, visas, shipping, 1 months accommodation paid for) we didnt need to go through a migration bureau or agent at all. We lodged our visa application on the 22/02 but not heard anything, so wasnt sure if we are to do medicals or really know whats going on. Any advise would be very grateful. Thankyou Jo x just check online if you have lodged E457 application, otherwise wait to hear either from agent or sponsor or CO. I do not think you need to have medical if you are from Low risk Country, unless you have circumstances that require medical i.e. if you have any specific medical condition or you have spent some time in High Risk country where risk of TB is high Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
