You will be covered by the reciprocal medical agreement which will cover you for necessary medical treatment - which may mean that you arent covered for some esoteric elective treatment and you may be repatriated if you are desperately ill with long term recovery issues. Temporary visa holders are supposed to have private health cover. ( I copied this from other post) I assume you are UK national. Once you are in Aussie land get yourself registered with medicare. I am sure you do not need medical insurance after that (from UK). However, you can arrange new private health insurance here in autralia just for peace of mind. But you need to have insurance to enter in Australia just in case if asked

Depends what you are loking for. I will go for Mosman Park. I was trying to find a 4 bed reasonably good house in Mosman park but unbale to find anything cheaper. Rents for 4 bed starting from $800 per week. youmay find town house slighlty chaper. I went to mosman park for high standard schooling and close to CBD

You can catch a train from Joondalup to any station in south, nearest station to uni. there is always a direct bus from nearest train station to uni. I assume if you boarding a train from Joondalup, it will take 35 - 40 minutes to south side station nearest to uni and then 10 minutes bus

I do not know which visa you applied for I have Liver condition and applied for 457. I am taking medication daily to avoid flaring up AST & ALT level. I have mentioned my liver condition in application and management through medication. Following happened I have asked to go through full medical including HEp B, HEP C and HIV ( Even though no medical required for UK nationals under my occupation) Then CMO has asked detail report from my treating consultant that include diagnosis, prognosis and managment. sent the letter and got visa week after that. CMO was looking three main criterea Risk to general public ( HEP B, HEP A, HIV) Cost to Austrlain Helth system in next five years And any risk to local resource i.e. transplant
