ronkhu, fultonclan, radman and the rest of July/August referrals, any news yet? That's what happened with a few of the early August ones. The week before it was so quiet, then all of a sudden last week, there were so much medicals finalised and visas granted. Hang in there people. Your turn is coming soon. I'm still waiting for my travel visa, as I cannot get the final PR grant until I'm back in Australia, as per the condition on the 885 visa.

Thank you!!

They haven't actually requested that info yet- someone just kindly advised me that there is a note on my application regarding this so it's likely they'll want it when they get to my application.

Do you know where I'd have to send it so I can give myself a head start?

Who told you? Did you do a medical for your visa? Usually Global Health will email you and ask for the info. There is no harm making an appointment with the specialist who has done the operation and get a letter from him so you are ready to send them the result when they have requested you to. When they do, they will give you clear direction of where to send to.

Thank you for the kind wishes radman! I applied for the 885 visa four years ago, on 15/03/2008. What's RSMS? All the best with your application too.

thank you..RSMS is regional sponsored migration scheme...

hi all,

we have the same problem, one medical held up. its a shame i didnt see this thread before we went because we could have fixed the missus before she went it. oh well! hindsight eh! should pay more attention to PIO!

to save me ploughing through the other 75 pages; have any of you followed this thread? could you please let me know the rough time line for these professionals to deal with our notes?

also, has anyone been brave enough to ship their belongings before having the ok. to close the gap out there without stuff.

many thanks

Hi, yes I've been on this thread for quite some time (joined it as soon as my meds got referred on 10th August) I'm afraid there isn't really a timeframe as such as there doesn't seem to be any order to which GH process them. Some members wait weeks (I'm in my seventh) whereas others have been a matter of days. We do have a spreadsheet for this thread (indy's in charge of that, he has the link in his signature).

Before reading this thread I never thought the medical would be an issue, however I am not so blaze now so am thinking what can I do to prepare and if I have any issues, have information in advance.

So the only thing I think I may refer on is, ages ago some blood tests from a medical at work showed high enzyme levels of the liver, I went to see my GP and they said there was nothing to worry about. Well I have now booked myself back in at the doctors for another blood test just in case as when I google it, I should be dead or dying.

Also another question is, at the moment I am carrying a little extra timber and am going on a strict fitness plan and diet in perpetration for the meds and my question is, for the meds do you get weighed in your clothes, or underwear? Might have to wear some light cotton clothes if I fall off the fitness wagon.

Best of luck to all of you and thanks in anticipation to answering my queries.

Can anyone who has gotten their visa answer the following questions:

1. what is a health undertaking form and what does it require of you?

2. After you get the visa grant letter do you need to send your passport of to an Aus embassy to get the visa added to it, or can you just land in Aus and get teh residence stamp?

I am in my eight week of waiting for my meds at the rate they are taking, plus my 4 week notice period at work, it does not look like I will get to Aus this year. Which is really sad. For a moment there back in July I thought I would be Aus now.

Hi Keptray

Not sure about your other questions but with regards to the visa stamp in your passport – we’re from the UK and it states we don’t need a Visa stamp as our visa relates to your passport number so customs in Oz will recognise when you enter the country. Good luck with your medicals, hopefully the wait shouldn’t be too much longer for you now.

I have lodged my application (GSM 175) way back Feb 2012. I had a small scar in my lungs so I was required to undergo sputum culture test which took 2months!!!! Results are negative and were referred Sept 20. Though I'm not in a hurry to move, I just want to get rid of this Damocles' sword and have some peace of mind. I hope I get the grant before Christmas :(

Best get a diagnosis of the reason why you have raised liver enzyme. Perhaps cutting down on alcohol will help. There are quite a lot of ppl with weight issues here in PIO who passed there medical without any problems. You can search for the thread here. Good luck!

Hi Keptray,

I can ans your 1st question, as I am still waiting for my visa grant.

1) as far as I know, health undertaking is for those with some sort of chronic illness (although some ppl don't even know why they were issued one! But i know my condition will require one)which require monitoring I.e. either blood test now and then or physical examination. They just want to keep an eye off you just in case there is a change in your condition. The health form will be sent by GH to your CO once they satisfy with your health requirement only if you agreed to be 'monitored' when you arrived in Australia. So from there on, CO will take over from GH, and they will issue you a visa once you sign the form and return to your CO.

Do you know whether you have a condition which might require extra considerations by GH plus if you apply for permenent visa, the health requirement is more stringent so it will take longer. I hope you will get there soon! Good luck

Thanks, my panel doctor said everything was okay so I have no idea why I was referred. Just trying to understand what can happen. I really wish there would be some method to how they finalise meds then we could have an idea of when ours would be looked at.

Oh Lisa, that's the only no for Global Health and you need to call them during the Australian time. But since they emailed you for further information, you should just get on with sending them the report and result and then wait for a week or so.

Hi, unfortunately they didn't actually email me requesting the information- I'd emailed the enquiry form again on the evisa check on the immi website...someone just emailed me back saying they'll try to process it quicker, but in the meantime I might like to know that there is a note on my application re: smear/CIN test and that the panel Dr had said specialist info is required. I haven't actually been asked to send it in....but I want to....I just don't have an address??!! Do you know what it could be so I can try get it done before they request it?

I haven't actually been dealing with Global Health at all yet, just contact via the immi.gov website. Gosh this is so stressful!!

Hi worriedhead, it was actually just the people who responded to the request form on the immi.gov website....they haven't requested it, just advised that it's likely I'll need it (they were trying to be helpful and try process it urgently as my flights are booked...but it hasn't helped much because they didn't give me anywhere to post it/email it!). so I need an address!!

Does anyone know if they need the original or can I scan documents in an email?

These things take time, no point in trying to rush it as you often drop a ball when doing this. My 457 visa many years ago (2006) took about 6months to finalise and then it was all straight forward with no hicups!

I cannot answer all q's as not over the finish line myself, but the health undertaking is a form 815, link here:
