DIAC's external service standards are those relevant to the transaction a client has with the Department, it's internal processes and service levels are simply that (internal to DIAC) unless they impact on the delivery of the external service standard. All applications being quoted here are well within the published external service standards, which take into account that there will be peaks and troughs in workloads in the areas that are involved in the delivery of the end product - a visa. Morning Watcher, I appreciate what you are saying, but as somebody stuck waiting on an internal process, it is frustrating to see there seems to be no logic or accountability to it's delivery. The spreadsheet is a relatively accurate reflection of a cross section of visa applicants but all of us have failed to see a rhyme or reason to the processing procedure. Even in my own case I was told that while the two secondary applicants on the visa need to be processed before the visa can be issued we will not be processed together. Referrals are dealt with by date and there was a 2 day delay in my son's referral, yet other dates have been dealt with before mine, so what date order is being adhered to? I think the lack of clarity (from Panel doctors to the applicant about who is to be referred) and misinformation form gh (sporadic dates plucked out of the air from what iI can see) itself is causing huge frustration for already stressed people. GH told me a few weeks ago that I will be dealt with seperately from my son (I was referred on the 30th July, he was referred the 2nd August). As you said it makes no sense! Hey Ozymandias - Did you by any chance get to know how much time both of the applicants take to get them meds reviewed ? I mean does the time frame for the second applicant start only after the completion of review of the first one or is it just a matter of another few days once the first applicant is reviewed / assessed ? Wendy Thorp Posted October 3, 2012 Share Posted October 3, 2012 there is no rhyme or reason!? like you say if there was a process that we were aware of and could follow, it would make the whole waiting game so much easier, but it seems to be some huge secret behind closed doors? are they also in teams? do they reflect the teams of our co? if there is a condition, is this forwarded onto a specialist in that area? do they work as part of gh, or are they outside doctors? how many people do they pass through? where do our emails go? i could go on forever!! i think it would be reasonable to have somekind of communication line that opened up the process and where we were within it similar to that of the actual visa, especially as this process is taking soooooo long! As a general question is there anyone on this thread who is still referred from before 30th July? Also does anyone know the last number that was tossed out by GH on where they are? Hi again, Sorry, No I did not think to ask that! it was weeks ago when I rang, I had been reading this thread and worried I would be stuck here forever based on the posts form the origional members and thought I would try my luck with a call to see if it moved anything along. I think the staff on the phones can only tell about paper files, online is different (if i got that right from a few pages ago), still no news then? When I checked my status at 6.30am (about 4pm Australia time) it was still showing as referred but two hours later it showed as finalised which was at the end of their working day so with a bit of luck our CO will see it tomorrow. Hi Ozymandias, Still no news, last I heard re paper ones the earliest they had referred was 26th July. Not sure what they mean by referred and if it covers someone who has to take further tests. Also looking back at the timeline, except for one person who was finalised on 3rd Sep, everyone else had their medicals finalised in 55 days. I am a week beyond that and you are closer to 2 weeks. I have no idea what is different about us. I am really worried that my medical is at the bottom of a pile somewhere and new medicals are being added to the top of it. So no one is going to get to it until it starts affecting their close out stats which based on their progress will be in another 3-4 weeks. PeteD Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 Indy, For your stats you can add my niece under my name, WHV, referred on 16/8/2012, paper, from South Africa, no pre-conditions, still waiting and extremely frustrated it's this difficult to get a holiday visa, albeit a working holiday visa.
