  1. What I did many moons ago is I told my boss that I needed those letters for me to be eligible for an IT Certification. That one is partly true though as that particular certification requires proof that I have been working in the field for a few years before they allow people to take the test. Except they would normally accept just the usual employment certificate with dates and job title and not necessarily the detailed Roles and responsibilities. I did end up submitting the same documents and took the test anyway.
  2. For those with health undertaking, everytime you go to Australia, regardless of the duration, call the health department and inform them when did you arrive and where are you leaving.
  3. Thanks! I was referred way back in June. Back then, it only took more than a week for them to notify me that I need to undergo anti-tb tests. I submitted the results on September (tests took more than 2 months) and was finalized and approved yesterday
  4. OMG I just received grant letter! (GSM 175) Timelines: Medical referred first time : June 2012 Medical referred second time (to submit anti TB results): Sept 19, 2012 I need to sign health undertaking though.
  5. Sept 28! definitely I was skipped! (referred Sept 19) Looks like no happy christmas to me
  6. Wow! I hope the first week of September is the new "August 30"!
  7. Same as advise as Mannu. Contact your panel doctor and ask them to re upload your meds instead of redoing it. If possible, watch the doctor upload the results. In my meds part I, the doctor uploaded the results infront of me.
  8. The results were clean (no TB). Took around 2 months plus another week for the repeat XRAY
  9. Hi, This is the exact same reason why I am now languishing in the Medicals Referred gang. I got the same request from HOC last June (back then it only took 9 days from the time my status was changed to Medical referred to Further Medical Tests Required). I'm done with the anti TB tests and the clinic submitted the results last September. No news since then. When are they ever going to start processing September medical results? If this drags on until next year my other medicals and PCC will already expire!
  10. Wow! Congrats IndyanExpress! I hope they process faster this time for refereed on September!
  11. This is depressing for me. I think I'm one of those left behind in the Prirority 4 GSM 175 application since I lodged last February. Everything went downhill when I was requested to undergo anti-TB test and now I'm stuck in the medicals referred queue. Around June, I remember HOC only took 9 days before they informed me to undergo the test. Well, no choice but to wait. I'm just worried they will ask me for another round of tests again.
  12. Well, if some members of the August gang are still waiting then I guess there's no sense for me to anticipate since mine was referred on mid September. To console myself, I just recall the old ACS accreditation days where you really had to wait for 3 months or more without any clue about the results. Good luck to us all.
  13. I have lodged my application (GSM 175) way back Feb 2012. I had a small scar in my lungs so I was required to undergo sputum culture test which took 2months!!!! Results are negative and were referred Sept 20. Though I'm not in a hurry to move, I just want to get rid of this Damocles' sword and have some peace of mind. I hope I get the grant before Christmas
  14. Non-native speaker, engineering graduate, currently an IT Consultant got 8/9/7/7 in L/R/W/S total band of 8. Not enough for the new points system Around 2 hours of preparation. I didn't expect the low mark on speaking and writing but I also didn't expect I'd get an 8 in Listening. Go positive vibes! I'll retake after the skills assessment results comes out and maybe practice writing and speaking (?) some more.
  15. Hello Friends! I'm trying my luck to apply for GSM (since it will be easier for me to start in Sydney, if ever). I wasn't able to prepare on time and for sure my application will be under this new points system. I just had submitted my ACS assessment (for Systems Analyst) last month. I also took IELTS (just to check how I would fare) without any preparations whatsoever and got 8/9/7/7 in L/R/W/S. Assuming I'll get the +ve assessment from ACS, my only chance to hit the passmark (or most likely the passmark) of 65 is if I get an 8 in all modules so I'll take IELTS again after my assessment results. Cross fingers! I'm working in a foreign country where they stopped issuing police clearance to foreigners. What other documents if the CO asks for a police clearance?
