  1. The NT application would become invalid, however the EOI would just update to reflect the loss of points due to age.
  2. Tough to say how much more competitive it will be in two years, points may go up to 75 like it was for a portion of last year. There’s also the 5 year regional rule they are flirting with. Might have a better idea after the federal election next year. You are taking a risk by not accepting an invitation which you have in hand. But at the same time, if you don’t believe you can hold true to the moral obligation then it’s best not to apply right away. Unfortunately too many have made this obligation to the states, and are not following it. This, in turn, is ruining it for those of us who are willing to stay 2 years. (which is minimal in the grand scheme of things if it means we can get perminant residency) In the past, once the visa was lodged, then whatever changes come about won’t affect you. For changes that would effect getting an invitation, then if you have an invite you also won’t be affected by those. One thing I am not sure on is the case of the government changing the regional areas, that’s probably grant related compared to invite/lodge. What is the occupation?
  3. First step would be to schedule a consultation with a registered migration agent.
  4. Chefs can get a state invite at 60 points, probably 55 too with a 489.
  5. Thanks for the responses, I just took the test yesterday and got my result. I found the test harder than the practice one. One thing that especially threw me off was that the question types were in DIFFERENT orders than the mock test. I thought it was always the same order, but that was certainly not the case.
  6. If invitation numbers are the same you will receive an invite Dec 11. You didn’t receive an invite Yesterday because it was either a lower than 2500 round, or because they are alternating the pro/non-pro ratio like they did in September and October.
  7. How does PTE practice test A compare to the real test, difficulty wise? I took the first practice test last night and it went better than I expected. Although I found the questions quite difficult, with words I had no clue how to spell. Would like to hear from those who took test A and how your score differed from the real test.
  8. Hi there, What state did you apply for? I assume you claimed points for work experience then?
  9. Yes, anyone can take an English test to boost their points. Lots prefer the PTE over IELTS as the marking seems to be more forgiving. As a native English speaker, don’t take either of them lightly - they are difficult if you want to obtain good marks.
  10. The two years starts counting down after the 489 has been granted.
  11. Holders no longer required to move employers after 6 months. Length of visas also may be extended.
  12. I saw that they will no longer have a maximum 6 months with the same employer rule. Any details on if there will be visa length changes?
  13. July gave us a good idea of how many NPR 70 pointer EOIs are being created per day which is approximately 6.57 (only NPR 70 pointers invited that round). Based on this and if the same invitation numbers and split continue, then we will see about 20 invites at 65 points on Nov 11. But after that about 275 per round. Oct 11 round: Last 70 pt EOI invited to this round = 2 mo 12 days = 72 days 6.57 * 72 = 473 NPR invites at 70 pts Nov 11 round: Last 70 pt EOI to November 11 = 2 mo 9 days = 69 days 6.57 * 69 = 453 invites at 70 pts NPR 473-453 = 20 left over invites for 65 points NPR Dec 11 round: Last 70 pt EOI to Dec 11 = 30 days 6.57 * 30 = 197 invites at 70 pts NPR 473-197 = 276 invites at 65 pts NPR Those are my thoughts at least, but somehow iscah thinks there will be quite a bit more than that based on their estimates.
  14. Like others have mentioned, if you have 60 pts +5 for 190 state sponsorship you will be invited ASAP by NSW as a Cook. For the PTE, you should really study the format and question sequencing of the test. I took it a few months ago and thought I would be good to go but ended up with a result lower than I needed. I scored high 80s in reading and listening, 90 in speaking, 90 in all the enabling skills but 78 in writing. That was pretty hard to stomach.
  15. How does one go about getting certified copies of required documents? I understand that I can just go to my university and get them to certify a copy of my degree and transcript, and I can go to a passport office and get them to provide me a certified copy of the passport. But how does it work for a skills assessment and English language test as these are just PDF documents? What would my options be in his case? Not onshore/ in AU.
  16. Did you check your eligibility for a PR visa? If you were to become a permanent resident before the child was born, they would automatically become a citizen.
