  1. AHPRA does not do skills assessments. They are the equivalent of UK's NMC. They are a professional registration body. Skills assessments are done by ANMAC for nurses, and ASMIRT for radiographers. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  2. Yes. You might want to time the AHPRA application whilst considering when you did your police checks/medicals: once your visa is issued, you only have one year from the date of the latter, whichever date is earliest, to enter Australia to validate your visa. So you might consider applying for AHPRA registration at latest 6 months after your PCC/medicals. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  3. 3 months to present to an AHPRA office once a provisional letter of registration has been issued. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks@Dragonflygecko ! I'm open to try anything non regional, however the OH wants to head to South QLD. I was surprised too at her not needing an X-ray too. Never heard of it happen as well! Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks @path2aus! Just gotta wait for the sprog to come into this world and get his visa done now. I'm already getting itchy feet and can't wait to jet off!
  6. Thanks! Gotta decide what to do and when to do stuff by now. Not long to go for you now! Let me know if I can help in any way [emoji1] Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  7. PTE. Check whether you need to do academic or general. As a radiographer I had to do academic for my registration. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  8. No worries @path2aus, I can only imagine how hectic things are for you atm - we are 37 weeks pregnant! Look forward to it when you get to do it mate.
  9. Hi all, Thank you for all your help, and the valuable information held on this forum. Surprisingly, our 189 was granted last week, even though OH didn't have her x-ray as she is pregnant. We now need to wait for the new arrival and do its 101 visa then. I'm happy to help any Radiographers and guide them through how I did mine. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  10. Hey. I can't offer any formal help, but I thought I'd give you some support: The new lists do not get published until early July, so if you have enough points, you should hopefully get an invite well before then. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi. I have sort of looked into this, and the only bank that has an international presence and wide network in the UK and Australia is HSBC. Apparently you can apply for an international account after having had your UK account for 6 months, and there are no transfer fees.
  12. Ok guys, so this is the final chapter of the U.K. part of the journey. We had our medicals on Friday, March the 31st, and it was a fairly straightforward process. I had my chest X-ray done at the same centre. My spouse being 34 weeks pregnant, had the medical, but we chose to return for her X-ray following the birth of the baby, and do his medicals too. The Dr said the results will be uploaded by the weekend, but he would notify DIBP of the pregnancy, and refer my wife until we return. True to his word, it showed up as being uploaded, with mine being cleared, and hers being referred. I left it like that for nearly two weeks, but when I checked my Immi account on the night of the 11th, it appeared that they had passed my spouse's medicals without her X-ray! We were only 2 days away from the end of the 28 day period within which you have to provide the requested information, so I decided to click on the "information provided" button anyway, and went to sleep. Much to my surprise, I awoke the next day with emails from Immi, with the email title "Grant Notification". Now anyone else would have jumped for joy, but good old me just grunted at the thought of having to now do the baby's visa through the 101 pathway! I called the Adelaine office that same night to try and get some insight as to why my request for extension was not granted, but I got met with the most unhelpful of replies, from "you shouldn't have applied this early", to "it's the decision of the caseworker ultimately". Oh, we did get our 189 granted by the way, in case this was in any doubt ? So I am now letting myself enjoy the much earned sweet fruits of my hard labour, until the actual real labour!!! What to do now, but start daydreaming of finally making the move - Sunshine Coast, here we come ???
  13. Thanks @path2aus ! This would be a godsend to everyone trying to navigate this additional maze in the quest to emigrate. Thanks also to @The Pom Queen for offering to sticky this.
  14. Hi guys, Would one of you possibly do a start to finish guide on how to apply for the 101 please? That would be extremely useful. Cheers, DN
  15. Thanks for the info. I thought I was going doolaly.
  16. Hey. I didn't fill in a declaration form. I paid for another ICHC. I also got the HCPC to send another current CoGS to AHPRA.
  17. Hi all, i couldn't find the above section to post in, so i would be grateful for any input please: I still haven't heard back from my emails to the DIPB, asking them to re-send me their "s56 request for information" email that actually contains what they want, rather than a blank page. I did manage to get through to someone on the phone, who stated that one of the things they require is a police check for my wife from a country that she visited on two occasions for a total of 5 weeks. I'm sure they are meant to only ask PCC for countries that you have spent a year or more?
  18. The 189/190 is not that much cheaper, after all the skills assessments/Council registration, notarised copies, international postage/duplicate university paperwork expenses are taken into account. Not to mention the time it takes to gather all of this information. We have spent around the £6K mark so far (including visa fees) for my spouse and I. Medicals have yet to be paid for. HTH.
  19. @bristolman, Would Sir like seconds with that? Compliments of the house.
  20. ... Waiting for the penny to drop...
  21. I'm sure this person finds it weird too: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/ktla.com/2015/10/08/albino-girl-whose-leg-and-fingers-were-chopped-off-in-tanzania-gets-help-in-l-a/amp/ Your comments around whether women deserve to be treated equally, and now judging me because i type with my thumbs without knowing my disability background. I am starting to see what type of person you might be...
  22. Do you own a mobile phone?
  23. I have my own personal agenda, which dictates how I live my life. However, there is an OCD aspect of my personality that compels my thumbs to type counter arguments in instances where it feels the picture painted is being grossly skewed.
  24. Hello Mr/Ms Company, I would very much love to take up your job offer, as I find the fact that you won't offer me carer's/sick/bereavement/annual leave, or any pension, or any scope to move up the ladder, or any job security - thus no chance of getting a mortgage, suit me down to the ground.
