  1. seen her drunk and it was fine, then watched her again sober and not so good
  2. Would sticky Vicky change your mind
  3. Brilliant place Benidorm it's got everything. Shows at night for the kids and €1 a pint in places . Old Town for the older lot then the new town for all the young ones.
  4. Yeah we get the first homebuyers grant and with building our own house, we are only paying stamp duty on the land which allows us to borrow more and get in a bigger mess haha. Only joking, I'd rather have a mortgage than pay someone else's. We pay $520 a week for rent at the minute so the mortgage will be cheaper.
  5. Just looking now mate, but will be building our own house. Save on stamp duty and build something better than we can buy. Looked at houses and they want knocking down really, but they are selling for $50,000 + above asking price. Think your right with interest rates going up here 1st, they've been low in the UK since the big financial crash.
  6. As long as the beans are heinz then I'm good . Anyone (in UK) especially who has bought there 1st house within the last 10yrs will have a big shock when interest rates do finally begin to rise. When that is no one knows, if they rise sharply then repossessions go up which the gov won't want. Regarding only having 5% deposit, unfortunately for 1st time buyers that will be the best they can hope for. The rate in which prices are going up, you would still be better getting a house with a 5% deposit, as the price would go up quicker than you can save.
  7. You can borrow upto 95% of the home value, although if you borrow more than 80% then you pay an insurance to the bank. If you go on realestate.com.au there is a calculator there which you can play about with and give you an idea of what fees you will pay
  8. Duke is correct in what he says. We have just applied for my daughters secondary school and we don't find out until August, although we are in the catchment area so guaranteed a place.
  9. Nothing wrong with Manchester City Centre, plenty to see and do. Your problem is when you start moving around the city centre.
  10. $100 a pop on what?
  11. Suppose they have you by the short curly then.
  12. Could you cancel the food and order shopping to your room? We got woolies delivered for snacks etc. Feel sorry for you paying that amount as I know what the food is like
  13. The borders are open for you, it's just a case of paying extortionate prices for the flights. We flew with Qatar as they have been the most reliable airline through covid. Your problem is that you can't be 100% sure that the borders will open then, so you could wait until the end of the Year only to be told that the borders won't open properly until mid 2022. If you are ready to come to Aus now and can afford the flights, I'd just be looking at now.
  14. We just scrubbed everything and wiped it in jeyes fluid. I'm not even convinced that they moved anything in our box, as the way I packed it seemed untouched. Anyway leave things like tools and bikes at the front so they can check them easily. I wouldn't worry about pollen going on things after cleaning.
  15. Brighton secondary school and glenelg primary are supposed to be good schools. An option could be to rent in an area for 12months to your kids into a good government school, then once there in you can move anywhere. An option could also build your own house which is what we are just trying to sort out now. You only pay stamp duty on the land rather than the full cost of the house. From what I can see you can build a very nice house for less than you can buy an established home . Most of our friends are Australian and we do here the odd English accent but it's not as if they are everywhere.
  16. No worries Both nice areas and we like the feel off them. We originally looked at hallet cove/sheidow park before coming to Aus and had no idea that it has a big English population. Whether more English move there because of that or because the houses are good value there compared to other suburbs. Hallet cove has good primary schools but I don't think that the high school is the best. If you are at Flagstaff Hill then the zoned high school is Aberfoyle high, which we looked at the other week as my daughter starts high school next year. Are you looking at using private or government schools? Look on realestate and see which areas you can afford, whatever the prices are now slap another $40k as the housing market is booming here as investors from Sydney are buying and renting out. Your kids will love it over here if they are active, as there is so much to do. The main thing we would change about our move is that we should have done it sooner haha.
  17. Hi Beau We moved to Adelaide last June with 2 girls 10 & 4 at the time. Your biggest thing to look at is schooling, if your going private then it isn't an issue but if your using government schooling then these are zoned. As North to South says use bettereducation for school rankings and also education.sa.gov.au for school zones. We are currently in North Plympton, 10min to the city and 10min to the beaches. We are only renting though and will be moving further south to buy as the house prices in this area have gone ridiculous. Corner plots are selling for $900,000 plus. Rental market is competitive but you will find something, look at tenant portal and you may be able to set up your account before you come. Most real estate agencies use this to allow you to apply for properties. I think we where lucky due to covid and got the 1st property we applied for which is a nice new build. Rental prices and property prices are rocketing at the minute . Like I say though your biggest decision is schooling.
  18. Took about 5 or 6 weeks for us, I rang them after 4 weeks and they gave me a reference number which I could hand over to the doctors so that I could book my kids in for there missing jabs.
  19. Don't worry about qaurantine you will be fine, just pack plenty to keep the kids busy. When you itemise your things for the movecube, makesure that you list your tools and not just put down toolbox like I did.
  20. Hi We got married in Greece, so we just submitted the Greek and English version of the certificate and this was fine.
  21. Yeah it was the Vetasses outcome. I never looked in to it more as cert 3 was all I needed anyway.
  22. Interesting, I wonder why I was only given a cert 3 then.
  23. Lavers

    English test.

Is it the Ielts that you are doing? You will find practice papers online, definitely revise so that you know how to go about the exam. This is in no way a gimme.
  24. Hi I had my modern apprenticeship and NVQ level 3, and I ended up with cert 3 so not sure if NVQ level 3 would do for a cert 4. Have a look at TAFE in Australia and see if that could help.
