  1. Hi there.

      Wanderer Returns

We are back. Been back here over a year now - it was just the house in the UK that was the issue.

I'm an Aus citizen and my wife has PR, so getting back was pretty straightforward for us.

You've posted that you and your partner have PR, so getting a 600 with a travel exemption for your son would seem like a realistic possibility. There are a couple of migration agents on the forum, so if I was you I'd contact one of them - they will surely know if any 'loopholes' exist!

      Good luck with it all.

  3. We are currently waiting for 101 visa for my son. Now the new law has been passed that the visa can be approved while in australia. Has anyone travelled to Australia on a 600 visitor visa while waiting for the 101 visa to be approved. We are pr and he is British. Thanks

The right way of doing things child 101

We have been waiting nearly 12 months for the 101 visa. Were hoping its not going to be to much longer. Would prefer to go as a family but hopefully it won't come to me going on my own.

Only valid for 3 months at a time. With quarentine not sure if its worth doing as we are not sure how long his 101 visa will take to be approved. So stressful

I'm currently waiting for my sons 101 visa before we can move back to oz. Now that the government have passed law stating the 101 visa can be approved whilst in the country. Is there another visa he can travel while we wait for his visa to be approved.

    Moving back to oz

The day we get the boys visa we will be looking to book shipping. Hoping to get to oz for September. My aussie friends have told me the economy has picked up somewhat and I can get a job easy enough now. Just waiting for the bloody visa. The UK is not a great place at the moment.
  12. How is ur family settling in oz? Hope everything is going ok for u all. Hope your enjoying it.

Thank you for that information. Thats a bit of a game changer. He can travel to Australia he's just not allowed to be in the country when the decision is made. If they have changed that rule then he should get accepted while in the country. Thanks alot.

Residents return and child visa (101)

Hi. We are in pretty much the exact same situation. Me and my Mrs are pr. We have 2 daughters born in oz and are citizens. We had to rush back to the UK in 2018 due to family issues. A rash decision on my part. My Mrs was pregnant at the time and our son was born in the UK. We renewed our pr whilst in the UK before they expired and got instantly approved. We have applied for the child 101 visa and are currently waiting for that. If covid never reared its ugly head. We might of been there by now. Gd luck let me know how u get on

    Moving back to oz

Thanks everyone The main thing holding us back now is my sons 101 visa. I've called and all they could tell me that it is being processed. It states that he must be out of the country when applied for and when a decision is made. I'm wondering if there are any loop holes. We are in temporary accommodation and its getting harder as time passes. We applied before covid but after the pandemic the processing times have increased. Bloody covid.
