  1. You are right, but DIBP accepts accepts 3 year old IELTS tests for migration purposes. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf page 20
  2. You have to do medicals and PCC even for non migrating dependents. PCC are only for people over 18 years, I think. As for your wife, c-sections should not be a problem. The other operation, if it is healed, should not pose problems as well. You can book medicals in advance, and ask the doctor, sometimes they give advice.
  3. Yes, you can exclude them when you lodge your visa. But, except for the fees, it will be better to include them now, and make a trip to activate the visa. Later on your wife will need a Partner visa (I do not know the number), and it is a long queue for that.
  4. Hi, All points are frozen at the Date of Invitation. IELTS is valid for 3 years. If you do not receive an invitation by the time they expire, you need to re-sit IELTS and apply for new assessment. If you got Vic SS and Invitation to apply for visa, you do not need to worry. Cheers
  5. I read somewhere that is up to 5 says.
  6. 190 and 489 are included in GSM for 2013-2014. The quota for this year is 28 thousand visas. As per the latest report, 190 and 489 together are a little over 10.000 http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-10022014/ So I do not think there is any reason to worry. Cheers
  7. seek.com.au shows good prospects for architects in both Sydney and Melbourne. There is a small problem of "no Australian experience", but IMO that's just an easy excuse for them.
  8. Is this for credit card only; or for any type of card payment? Thank you!
  9. If she doesn't hold a UK passport, she needs to sit IELTS and get an overall band score of 4.5. The second installment of $4850, that you need to pay if she doesn't get that score, is not a pay to get out of it, it's the cost of the English classes she will need to attend once in Australia.
  10. You can wait for CO to ask them, but you can be proactive, and solve everything in advance, even Meds. This way the process will be smoother, and quicker.
  11. Well, this is a homework you need to do. Check each State list, and see which one will sponsor. You need to hurry, as they are reaching their quota. NSW already closed 190 nominations till 1st of July. In the meantime you can re-sit IELTS.
  12. I would say to take the chance and sit IELTS again, and try to convince the CO to accept it.
  13. On the list, next to Occupation, is the ANZSCO code and the assessing authority. Check their website for what documents they need from you.
  14. To get 5 points for partner skill, the secondary applicant needs to meet the requirements of a main applicant: - Occupation on the same list (SOL or CSOL) - get the skills assessed - meet the English language requirement.
  15. The occupations on CSOL are more likely to be removed than those on SOL. SOL is for entire Australia, it changes on 1st of July every year. Occupations on CSOL depend on every State policy, and the States change their list more often. It is even possible to have an occupation listed on CSOL, but no State to sponsor it.
  16. Useful info, thanks. I checked Cybex, it is not on the list. I guess I have to buy new ones. If I get a car rental at the airport, would they have car seats as well? I do not suppose I could find a store so quickly.
  17. Do you know where can I find the brands/models that passed the safety standards? Is there a site for these? When I bought them, they were on top in ADAC crash test, but who knows, Au may have different tests.
  18. I heard/read somwhere that Aus norms are different than EU norms. Is this true? I want to bring over the ones I have, not buy new ones there, if possible.
  19. I did everything by myself so far, but my case is pretty straightforward. Occupation on SOL and CSOL, more than 8 years on the job. Still waiting for the answer, but an agent cannot make the hurry, can he?
  20. Probably referring to 489 Family sponsored, which brings 10 more points, but is not PR.
  21. I was not aware that Skills assessment expire. IELTS expire after 3 years - new rules from DIBP. In my opinion, you should sit IELTS and get 8s. Or look into 190, to get the missing 5 point from State Sponsorship.
  22. This may be of use to you. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArviwOkQc_pFdFoxeU94QXVKTkFOSV9SM05CdXFxU3c&usp=drive_web#gid=97 You can add your data as well.
  23. Yes, usually you get the invitation the same day you get State nomination.
  24. I know there are some high-risk countries. The applicants from those countries get extensive check. I read about one guy from Palestine who got invited a year ago, and still doesn't have a visa. All other countries are treated the same, no matter if you are from Canada, USA or Europe. But I do not know if this is done by NSW, or they leave to DIBP. http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/3.0.htm
