I'm lucky I'm on a 457 so can work whilst the Partner visa is processing. Colleague of mine just had hers grated after 10 month wait so that was lucky, they also gave her PR straight away.

HR manager is still on the list that may be an option?

Hi all, Thought I would start this thread to follow any others waiting for their visa to come through! Applied 26 Feb 2017, application is ready to be assessed, all documents uploaded inc medicals and police checks. Patiently waiting hoping no visa changes come this way!!

thanks Maggie would they need to cancel it though seeing as its null and void as HR advisor is not on list anymore. I was hoping the bridging visa would just kick in but that would be too easy eh! losing my time served would be rubbish too as I have been here 3 years already.

hi guys here we go again! I am currently on a 457(expires2019) as a HR Advisor. Today my occupation has been removed from the list. In February I lodged a Partner visa 820. Looking at worst case scenario as I haven't had much luck in the past, my questions is if I lose my job(currently on probation after my visa was transferred following redundancy at Xmas) would my 457 become defunct and my bridging visa linked to Partner visa kick in? My current 457 wouldn't be valid anymore as my occupation has been removed so I wouldn't be able to find another employer to transfer this visa. Anyone know how this would work? thanks all Kez

Hi I just submitted mine onshore and we had to do stat decs to talk about our commitment to each other including emotional and physical...awkward but just be honest I am sure Immigration have read lots of different stories and you are just another applicant to them. Its better to add some emotion than not in my eyes. You have to write about the history of your relationship too. Loads of advice on the website on what to include. I have heard offshore is quicker as onshore is taking 18 months to process.

hi guys I lodged my partner visa last month (onshore) and I got engaged last Saturday :wink: how do I inform immigration? Do I just upload some new photos or complete 1022 and send that somewhere? thanks guys Kez

Hi all I lodged my on shore Partner visa 801 yesterday and I have already been asked to get a health examination done. I was under the impression applications are taking 12-18 months but health examination would only be valid for 12 months. Is this right? I don't want to rush and get the health exam done if it then becomes invalid, but I don't want to delay my application either. Any advice experience with this appreciated. thanks kez

Good news for me I found a new sponsor! Will still be lodging partner visa in next few weeks but at least now I have a great new job and they've transferred my 457!

update im being made redundant on 23 December so been looking for a new sponsor. Plan to lodge Partner visa in next couple of weeks and hopefully find a new sponsor very soon. Im thinking is it worth waiting till after christmas to lodge seeing as the xmas break will prob slow things down anyway? will it look iffy if I lodge after im made redundant? my relationship is 100% genuine and we have all the paperwork ready to lodge! Stressful times....

ps do you think i should submit the police checks with the application or wait a while as I know partner visas are taking around 15 months to process?

Hi guys I am preparing all my papers to submit, do you all do your medicals prior to submitting please? Anyone had to apply for work rights under hardship? I am losing my job on 23 December and will need to apply for hardship to work if they canel my 457 visa. worried its takign so long to process eh1 18 months is a long time with no job if thats the case! thanks KEZ

quick questions everyone, I am gathering all my papers for the Partner visa 820. It says for ID I need a passport and birth certificate showing both parents names. I have passport but only have short version of my birth cert which doesnt show my parents names. Your personal documents Your identity Certified copies of the biographical pages of the current passports or travel documents of all people included in the application (these are the pages with the holder's photo and personal details and the issue/expiry dates). Two recent passport-sized photographs (45 mm x 35 mm) of each person included in the application. These photographs should be of the head and shoulders only against a plain background. Print the name of the person on the back of each photograph. [*]A certified copy of your birth certificate showing both parents' names. If you do not have a birth certificate and are unable to get one, you must provide a certified copy of the identification pages of at least one of the following documents: family book showing both parents' names identification document issued by the government court-issued documents that verify your identity. [*]A national identity card if you have one. [*]If your name has changed or the name of anyone included in your application has changed: a certified copy of evidence of the name change. I dont have these but what else could I provide as per the line below? If you are unable to provide any of these documents, you must provide other acceptable evidence that you are who you claim to be Also do i need both Australaian and UK police checks? been here 2.5 years thanks Kez
