  1. thank you Mark! Could I apply for financial hardship and get bva?
  2. Hi everyone i have been been told by my employer that I need to find another job, they sponsored me in May 2015. My Aussie partner and I are planning to go down partner visa route. I've just started job search for another employer to transfer my 457 (best case scenario) My question is if I do get my 457 cancelled I would go to Bve which means no work rights. If I lose my job, lodge partner visa can I still search for another sponsor within 90 days or will lodging 820 visa cancel out trying to obtain new sponsor? thx
  3. Hi quick question; if im made redundant on 457 visa then lodge partner visa can I still look for another sponsor within the 90 days despite lodging partner visa? I need to work and want to avoid bve if possible! thanks
  4. Can anyone recommend a good agent in Melbourne please that's not too costly? thx
  5. Can anyone recommend good Mara agent in Melbourne please?
  6. Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply. I am so stressed out right now and its good to hear some positive outcomes. I am assuming our application is straight forward so fingers crossed it gets approved quicker. My partner has a 13 year old who lives with us half the week but hes not biologically mine but I do contribute to his upbringing more financially and emotionally.

  8. trust me I have worked in HR since 2003 and worked in Melbs since 2014 in HR. The quality of HR here is way behind the times and I have been told finding good HR professionals in Australia is tough, hence why we are on the CSOL.
  9. I have just moved from St Kilda to a gorgeous house in Caroline Springs. Its very different in the West but you do get a lot more for your money. CS is a lovely area with a huge lake and shopping centre. CS station is due for completion this year but at the moment I drive to Deer Park around 8 minutes and then its only 20 mins on the train to the city. Easy! a lot of houses are brand new, mine included, we are the first to live in it! If you have a family then its a great place to live with some beautiful properties on offer!
  10. Hi guys I have broken my lease on my apartment in St Kilda to move with my Partner. Its a gorgeous place right near the beach, really spacious, clean and affordable, $450 per week. Here is the link http://www.realestate.com.au/property-apartment-vic-elwood-417737802 If you know of anyone looking I would be grateful if you point them to this. I only have three months left on the lease but could do without the costs at the moment!! thanks all
  11. Hi there!! ha ha yes not been on for a while, its been a crazy here, lows and highs but once again have come through it! Yeah it was a slog getting here and almost had to come back when I split up with my Partner. I'm lucky my employer saved the day and my occupation is on CSOL. I cant go for the direct scheme to PR as Vetasses don't recognise my Post Grad as being equivalent to a degree (stupid really as its higher!) oh well hopefully the rules will change next year and reduce it to 12 months... how have you settled?
  12. Hi guys I was on a dependent 457 from April 2014, however my relationship broke down and I was then sponsored by my employer on my own 457 from May 2015. I am hoping someone can answer the following; Does the time spent on the dependent 457 count towards the two years to qualify to apply for the ENS transition scheme? If so that would make me eligible to apply in April 2016? I have also heard the government may change this rule to 12 months next year? any advice appreciated. thanks
  13. Hi jac yes I am lucky in that respect or it would have meant getting first plane back. It was a long road to get here and i don't want that taken away from me. Perils of a 457 defacto!
  14. hi maggie may ive written that letter today and will email it to them tomorrow. Immi guy at cancellations dept told me to put that in the letter too.
  15. Hi Bungo Yes we sponsor people all the time. I know I would say the same to anyone else that its going to be okay but I have so much at stake its terrifying to think I could be going back..
  16. hi guys Sadly my 12 year relationship has broken down. We have been in oz just one year on a 457. I am the defacto. We notified Immi and last week I received a letter with the intention to cance my visal. I have 5 days to respond to this. My company have agreed to sponsor me and I am 'lucky' I am on the csol list and my company are registered sponsors. My nomination and application were lodged last week and a bridging visa granted. Its been an extremely stressful time and I am hoping Immi take into account I have my own application lodged before they cancel this one. Just wondering if anyone has been in this situation before? I have everything crossed as I don't want to leave Australia and am still coming to terms with everything...
  17. Hi gemma i am in oz but through my partners 457 and now have great hr job in Melbourne . I was told without a degree which could be in any subject (with my experience snd post grad) they would not pass my skills assessment. Unless they've changed rules I suspect you will sadly fail. Sorry!!! Try and find another route?
  18. Natasha I'm not in your field but I got a job in HR in 4 weeks! Wouldn't bother applying before you arrive just make a few appointments with agencies in your field couple of weeks before you fly out! Good luck!
  19. Hi Sarah ill pm you my email and I can fill you in on what I've seen and heard etc so far!
  20. Thx all! i know crazy journey guess it's there to test us to see if we really want it though don't feel like it at the time! When you arriving? I forgot what part you're going to?
  21. I was worried before I arrived in Melbourne as i had heard so many stories on here about how difficult it was to find a job in my field of HR. I prepared well before I left and joined AHRI (professional HR body) completed an e learning course on fair work act and set up agency appointments. It paid off! I had a good cv and positive attitude and treated job search as my job. I prob applied for over 20 positions had one interview where I was invited back to a second, had another interview set up in same week I got my job! I start Monday and I'm super excited, I've not even had to take a step back in position or salary as some had suggested I may have to do. If you are making the move and you're in HR then good luck it can be done
