I wouldn't do either until you have been invited to apply for your visa and have submitted your visa application. At that stage there are links and instructions on booking your medical and you can have the results within 7 days. We didn't have any problem booking the medial either. Everything done bar form 80. Completed but need to find scanner for 2 x 18 page documents (so frustrating you have to print, sign and scan them back in). I keep nagging hubbie and he has to scan them by hook or by crook tomorrow as we can't hace a situation where meds are finalised but they are missing this final form. We decided to book ours as soon as we lodged by clicking the link as we had to book flights to the UK for our meds and preferred to do it in the school holidays. At the time (April) everyone on here was saying don't booked your meds until your case officer is allocated. This was about 10 weeks. We booked any way for 8 weeks after lodgement (end of May). Anyway, our CO was allocated end of April and immediately asked for our meds stating we had 28 days to load them (which was after we had booked them for). We have therefore had to ask for an extension and prove with receipts they're booked. DIAC state they can make a decision at any time so in some respects I wished we had done the meds earlier. 189 visas are moving that fast I personally would get my meds done ASAP if I were you unless you want to delay for a reason. Must admit I was a bit like Rossmoyne and ready to have a go about you considering walking away from your debts in the UK. Don't! Unless you do it legitimately I.e declare bankruptcy. I now understand why you've got yourself into that mess. My brother married the wrong girl and although they were together only 2 years (married 1) and no kids, she walked away with over £20k, and that was 10 years ago, leaving my brother with nothing except the house (which was worth less than they paid for it) and his pension. Seems completely wrong as she barely contributed to the household. My brother cleaned and cooked for her and she just bummed around whilst having an affair. She completely took him for a ride. Thanks. What I've done is list all countries with visa stamps and places other than France, Uk and Switzerland then I've stated that I have undertaken numerous trips to France, UK and Switzerland. It would be near on impossible to list these as I frequently travel on business, and have done so for the last 10 years, to these countries and also frequently travel to France and UK on holiday and day trips.

Form 80 asks you to list all countries other than Australia including visits back to your home country in the last 10 years (including short stay stays)... Do you know if we need to declare travel within Europe on a European British passport? Hi leah The 189 visa fee of $3060 includes your partner and dependent children so the only extra costs are your skills assessment (and your partners if you need the extra points for your partners skills), IELTS if you need to sit it for skills assessment or points, medicals for you, your partner and children (around £320 for an adult and £90 for children under 11) and Police checks which I think are £45 each person for one certificate. Yes you can use the academic IELTS. We did. But you need to score at least 8 in all for 20 points and 7 in all for 10 points. Repay your debt otherwise they will take you to court and seek to recover the money from your house. They can do a land registry search and find out you are sitting on an asset easily enough even if the credit card and mortgage departments don't talk to one another!
