  1. Sorry Ash 128, I wasn't ignoring you it's just I've not been on here for the past month; been on the Perth sister site. We didn't get work experienced assessed as we didn't want anyone to know our plans at work. Also we didn't need the points as we had 60 without the work experience. If we had needed extra points I think we would have got my skills assessed as well rather than tell my hubbies employer  Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the feedback. I know she needs to offshore when granted. We've got my SILs wedding in Australia in October so MIL wants to be sure she can go I the wedding whilst her 143/173 visa is being processed. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just want to be sure...can my parent who is eligible to apply for a 143/173 CPV apply for a tourist visa or long stay parents visa whilst the 143/173 is being processed? What happens if the 143/173 is issued whilst she is visiting or should she just let the immigration/CO know and then it's ok?
  4. What are the downsides of a temporary visa if their main use is to stagger the visa payments?
  5. In brief; your best bet is to finish your accounting qualification and apply as a skilled migrant for a 189 visa. It can take as little as 4-6 months from start of the process to the visa being granted. You'll need to live in Oz for 2 years to be resident and 4 to apply for citizenship which will give you dual nationality.
  6. I'm not sure which are quickest TBH. I think it swings in roundabouts. CPA took about 4 weeks in February this year but would have taken 3 if they had not misunderstood my hubbies mature student entry route to ACCA.
  7. Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of additional medical cover whilst on a bridging visa and awaiting an aged parent visa?
  8. Funnily enough I have just been looking into the differences and this is what I had figured so thanks Alan; you've confirmed what I thought.
  9. I don't think it matters providing they are a fully qualified ACCA (Chartered Certified Accountant). We're ACCA and opted for CPA for our assessment. We were all set to use ICAA but they would only accept documents certified by an Australian Police Officer etc or a migration agent. As we weren't using a migration agent and CPA would accept certification locally we ended up sending everything to CPA. They have an office in London so you can send all of the documentation there. They will check its in order and forward it onto the Melbourne office. They were extremely helpful.
  10. Our medical centre told us it would take a week for the results to come back and load them onto the eHealth system. It was exactly 7 days and we emailed our CO to check they had been received. Somehow they had all been received exempt for one and after a few telephone calls and emails between us and our CO and medical centre our visa was approved. I would suggest waiting a few more days and then checking.
  11. Im afraid that even for a 189 only post qualification experience counts towards an Accountant skills assessment. However they may assess you as meeting the requirements for the Accountant skills assessment using other qualifications such as a degree in accounting which can count towards the assessment. In such cases as soon as you they deem you to have met the minimum requirement you can count experience from that date which could be earlier than when you completed your professional accounting qualification.
  12. OMG the prices in Perth are cheaper than where I live!!, Here a loaf of bread is £1.90
  13. Just joining this thread as we have just received our visa and need to start planning our move. Our 3 children are all in private schools, single sex, 22 in a class but the cost is only about £4500 each. To be honest £££ doesn't always buy you a better education. 2 of them a very happy 1 is ok but I find his school too disciplinarian dictatorial and very restrictive. I want them to get good grades (and they are certainly capable) but more importantly I want them to develop into well rounded adults in a caring environment and for them to be happy. My dilemma is that we were thinking of staying close to my SIL when we emigrate; close enough that the children could cycle round to their Aunts! After all why move to the other side of the world and then live an hour or more from her! But she has settled in Warnbro and all the reports are the schools aren't great round there (and we may have to rethink depending on where hubbie will be based for work and our location if I'm to start my own business). I'm really interested in hearing about other options and other areas so it's great to see some constructive feedback to the PO's question. With 3 children $14-18k each seems a bit too much for us but there are always other options. Is the PO just looking in central/ western suburbs? Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. But she can't if she hasn't got a CO yet. Our medical centre were able to confirm to us once they got our results back (7 days after our appointment) that we had all been A graded and there were no problems with our Medicals. From my understanding it is not the CO who refers but the medical examiner so I would suggest you contact them after 7 days and ask them about your results. They have to tell you as its your medical and you are are entitled to know as they are your medical records. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I would say A if you are entering Australia on a permanent visa for the first time despite leaving again in 17 days. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks EmyLee We have no idea when we will be heading out. So much to do with selling the house, finding a job for hubbie (I'll be starting my own business) and sorting out everything with our 3 children! We have a wedding to go to in Perth in October so we want to go down then and validate at the very least! Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. On skill select you can only front load once you have received your Visa invitation and paid your fee. There's a link where you load the documents to complete a form and then you can book your Medicals. Our centre wouldn't let us book until we had done this and they could see us on their system. We didn't have to wait for the case officer to ask so if you get it done before then you'll be front loading. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. No probs. happy to help We'll be heading for Perth area as that's where my SIL is based. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Visa granted today!!! (Starting to want to shout it from the roof tops but can only keep shouting it on PP and PIO!!!) LOL Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We had to print and rescan our form 80. Not very intuitive but needs must. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. We used them too http://www.nobirdscarhire.com.au (as they won't do airport car hire). They were a third of any other car hire company. We bought a sat nav as it wasn't much more than hiring and then gifted it to my sister in law as a thank you for our stay. We bought car seats from Woolies for $30 each which was cheaper than renting for 3 weeks. Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. After you've paid your visa application fee you'll be able load your documents online where there is also a link to complete the forms which will enable oh to book your medical. I would send off for your PCC at the same time if I were you as your CO will normally allow you 28 days and it may take that amount of time to get your PCC back. 23. Have you been checking your junk email?!? Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. Only my medical outstanding now. Why I don't know as the medical centre has advised me they uploaded it yesterday. On tender hooks! Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
