Hi there, Just spotted your posting and said to my husband this sounds just like you!! My husband and I emigrated to Perth, Australia last October - he is 33 and has been in the hospitality industry since leaving school! Three weeks ago he started his pre-apprentice electrician course, with a view to get an apprenticeship job in September. He is so pleased he waited to re-train here in OZ because from my understanding yes the UK qualifications are not recognised here. Definitely have a look into pre-apprentice courses, it just seems OZ is so much more geared up in helping people to re-train...we have been very impressed!! Hi Thomas! I was in your exact position did my working holiday in oz came back to the uk and began the research on how to get back out there! I made it my mission in life, so I worked my socks off finished my accountancy exams and saved up the money for the visa!! I have now been living in Perth for 6 months and was it worth it....absolutely!!! If you know its definitely for you, you will find a way and I highly recommend applying for a permanent resident visa Good luck!!!!

Yes, I agree just get the practice in and be prepared! Its not hard you just need to give answers in the correct format. I brought practice books from ebay :0) good luck!!!

Why don't you try and get all 8's or more in your IELTS test, that'll give you 20 points which means 65 points and more freedom on where to live That's what I did , good luck
