There's 3 diff sizes, check out seven seas they give dimensions. I got the largest was almost £1000 then paid a couple hundred dollars when it arrived

New grads are restricted here as to what they can do, well at least on my ward so may be biased so maybe by having some on 457 the ward is actually getting an established RGN for not much more cost than a new grad?

Which Gold Coast area is best? Thinking of broadbeach, QLD
nic1171 replied to marie's topic in Queensland
I'm in Helensvale and love the proximity to the motorway. Can't comment on commute to Brisbane but it's a more established area, houses and gardens large, the state high has a good name, can't comment on primary schools. -
As rob dc says why come if your thinking that. I think emigrating puts huge strains on even the most stable relationships, I should partly know I split from partner during process whilst in UK. I would say unless your 100% committed don't do it

FFS is all I can reply to this. I take it you haven't had your children die from measles or whooping cough???

I'm sure you can as often folk go for APHRA before Anamc (if needed), so risk is you may be eligible to work as a nurse as far as AHPRA concerned but obviously you need Aus Immi to approve a visa to allow you to work

Yep DreamWorld on the Gold Coast recently advertised, I was tempted! First aid with advanced life support skills and staff health checks!

General Practice, Community, Forensic, Aged Care Facilities, Theme Parks to name a few

Nursing - professional indemnity insurance/union membership? ?
nic1171 replied to nursesam's topic in Careers and Vacancies
The nurse union will provide it. I was actually working for a while without being in a union assuming my employer covered me, just recently found out! Also when reregistering with AHPRA it asks if your covered. I think each state have their own union but all come under ANF. I pay $22 a fortnight -
Anzsco code and professional ref query on anmac
nic1171 replied to Nursebucko's topic in Careers and Vacancies
Once your here the ANZSCO code is irrelevant, think it's more for skill shortage lists as not all are on the states individual shortage list which is relevant if applying for 190. With regards the professional reference only know that If your claiming points for length of service you will def need one your off current manager -
did you live on the same estate as me in UK?!! Maybe be im just fortunate in where I've settled on the Gold Coast but I haven't encountered any of what I did back in my home town. Like everywhere there's good and bad areas but IMO in the UK it's more apparent. I wouldn't go the the local shops after dark because of the youth culture, there were chavs by the dozen, not sure I've even seen a bogan here. I work hard here but no harder than UK and have a much better standard of living. Sometimes I think it's how you feel emotionally when you judge a place. To the OP I hope you find happiness somewhere.

Unlike the UK where you usually had to be registered with a GP before being seen you don't here. Most people will go to the same practice but if there's no appointments available you can go another one. A lot do offer a type of walk in service to, a bit like a minor injury centre

My son was 16 and similar position I guess. Although they put him in yr 11 initially because he had missed the curriculum from Jan to Oct he struggled, also he couldn't have the subjects he requested. They subsequently put him into yr 10 and he started yr 11 in Jan gone. He is much. Ore settled and enjoying school now, they study 6 subjects as opposed to the 3-4 at A level back in UK. Albeit he's one of oldest in year he's not the eldest, the Gold Coast being quite transient. I have a friend who left one of her sons behind to complete A levels and he came over when he finished. Who knows? Maybe give your daughter the option rather than forcing her

Anyone live in pacific pines/ upper coomera with kids?
nic1171 replied to princess sofia's topic in Aussie Chat
Arundel and Ashmore seem nice, I had a look when I first got here, actually stayed at Ashmore caravan park initially! I settled on Helensvale due to the school for my son. Maybe check out Oxenford and Pimpama too as they're close to M1. I would choose Pac Pines over Coomera. Good luck. Maybe just get 6 month lease just in case you don't like where you end up! Don't envy you all the upheaval! -
Anyone live in pacific pines/ upper coomera with kids?
nic1171 replied to princess sofia's topic in Aussie Chat
I live in Helensvale which is near those suberbs. Personally I wouldn't chose Coomera, I have a pal who hated PAC Pines and moved away, nosey neighbours, have another pal who likes it as she likes the school. There may be plenty of rentals there, ask yourself why! -
If your going for a 489 will that not dictate quite a bit where you can settle? Though that was for more remote areas?

I bought one from Appliances online quite reasonable, however I also shipped a larder fridge and it does as a drinks cooler!

I've worked since getting here last Sept, had a few different ones as not sure what I want but that's me, that's on the Gold Coast. I have friends further North, Perth and further South all working, don't know any who've struggled.

Humidity can worsen asthma, do you have to go to NT as further South may be better for your son?

There may be a Febuary lodge gang, there tends to be one every month, good support for each other waiting! Some get in a few weeks others takes months, all circumstantial, can't remember my exact time frame but it's on my signature. Good luck

I guess if DIBP weren't convinced about the dependency aspect you'd have to stay put if they are as you say dependant on you. Hence the advice about getting advice from a migration agent before you fork out 1000s for the visa application.

If health reports are ok then how come your mother is a dependant? I would imagine that's what DIBP would be curious about. Your sister I guess because she's studying maybe fine but is it not down to your mother to support her? Is it a cultural reason you support them? For any cases not straightforward I would recommend paying an agent to assess before you fork out huge amounts for visa application
