  1. @emmiejay Hi sent you a pm
  2. Im in a rush at mo as on my way out but when I get back i wil pm what I done, was literally just a stat dec stating similar to what you mention, unlikely you will need court, give me a few hours
  3. Ive only lived on The Gold Coast so cant compare but my choice here to live was for the climate and proximity to theme parks for my son. If your kids are young theres heaps of parks and the beaches are beautiful. As someone else mentioned too we're quite central to other cities. Weve already been to Sydney, off to Cairns in Sept, flights relatively cheap. Within an hour driving distance of Brisbane or NSW, got the hinterland too which is beautiful.
  4. Hi Pumpkin she may have completed a degree post qualifying like I have, not sure if these are being accepted now, mine was acknowledged but that was last year before Ahpra changed the rulings. If shes 60 shes gonna struggle for points if going for PR, not sure how she'll fare for sponsorship. @keithredpath I would discuss this with a reputable migration agent before you start forking out money for assessments
  5. @ali I think Ahpra are wanting degrees as minimum for new applicants now!
  6. Months! Lots of variables. Is she the main visa applicant? Does she have a nurse related degree?
  7. Sunshine, my only expectation and I haven't been let down!
  8. Could your husband be main visa applicant? That way may give you some breathing space. However Australia particularly QLD has hundreds of newly qualified degree trained nurses looking for work, not sure about rest of Aus but thats likely why Ahpra are toughening up on requirements.
  9. to apply for PR you need a skill on the SOL/CSOL though so unless hubby can be main applicant OP is best looking at topping up with a degree.
  10. I dont know if customs woukd know models of bikes! As Furkew says its more if stuff is dirty or your bringing lots of one item as if you plan on selling. I know lots who have had to pay for things to be disposed such as christmas ornaments or things cleaned but not because of newness.
  11. Hi Tina, cant remember where your heading but Im sure as a nurse you will get agency work quickly, just register as soon as you land and if you have an up to date CPR certificate bring it with you as I had to do one via red cross before I started work. Money wise I did have enough to pay 6 months rent up front ($14000 +bond), as a nurse doing agency you will need a car unless you live near a local care home but you will be able to pick up a cheap runaround for a few thousand $, I budgeted for approx $300 a week for food and petrol (theres 2 of us), bills take a month or so before they start coming in so usually enough time to start earning. The luxury here is most places pay every fortnight though it may take a couple of weeks for pay to get started.
  12. In order for me to claim work experience points i had to provide statements from HR, professional references and even bank statements showing wage deposits fir the years I was claiming. Are you able to do similar?
  13. Check out Anmacs own site fir documents needed, nit sure abiut modified just know it was lengthy for full one. As for Ahpra youll be abke to present in person to a local office to complete registration but dont think you can work on a tourist visa?
  14. I havent trawled through the previous 6 pages so maybe its been said but I joined local FB groups and have made friends that way. Having said that though Ive also made lovely friends through work so dont be too against that
  15. Apologies, 298 cheaper! Malaysia 639, Emirates 937
  16. Newcastle to Brisbane for 27th Dec on Skyscanner also, Malaysia cheaper than Emirates who i usually fly with
  17. A one way ticket from UK to Aus is currently 300pound cheaper with malaysia, this was case even before latest incident as I was intending on doing this exact flight path when i return in dec but now Im not so sure!
  18. Hi the employment statement you get from HR stating the dates you have been employed and at what level and amount of contracted hours. There is a template for a professional reference which is likely what youve posted. if your claiming points for years experience you need a professional reference and HR statement from each employer for the amount of years claimed.
  19. I use BBCs recipe http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9020/best-yorkshire-puddings

    Nursing

Will they not accept your community nursing degree even though its nursing related?
  21. Not sure of ratios back in UK as I havent worked on wards for 20 yrs, however am currently on a neuro rehab ward, 20 bed and we have approx ration of 1:5. They only have HCAs one HCA work mon to fri, its the RNs who do most of the care, so showering, toileting, medication, feeding, doing the obs, everything really. This is in Queensland so dont know about ratios for other states. I dont think there are perks a such other than the sun shinning and great views from my ward! Im leaving shortly though for a clinical nurse post in the community woohoo!
  22. Im in Helensvale renting with LJ Hootker and i had to pay 4 weeks rent as bond. Im sure realesatate.com. tell you the expected bond amount
  23. Has anyone done the skyrail and Kanundra railway journey?
  24. Took your word for it and have booked hotel in Palm Cove for September, flights booked, GBR here we come!
