  1. Thanks to you all for taking the time to respond. We are currently going through practice before the IELTS English Test which is proving a little more challenging than first thought - lol.
  2. Hi, its Wendy again !! Following on from my recent thread about the best way to emigrate, I've been informed by our migration agent that although the ANZSCO list has my partner's job role on it and that "work experience can replace formal qualifications", the assessing authority, Engineers Australia have confirmed to him that you need a degree. I am obviously naïve to think that the list is an accurate document, but am now even more confused that the list would suggest my partner can emigrate but the Assessing Authority would not accept his application. I'm frustrated when I read of so many people that emigrated without a migration agent, that would have used formal websites and this forum, and yet it would seem that the information available cannot be relied upon. I need some clarity please ?? Thanks for reading Wendy.
  3. Me and my partner have a migration agent but to be honest he doesn't seem to have the same motivation as we do, doesn't seem to be on the same page, and is providing us with very questionable information. I would really appreciate knowing if members made the move to Oz without the assistance of a Migration Agent and whether or not it was worth it ? Your comments as always would be greatly appreciated. Wendy.
  4. Me and my partner don't have children so an obvious opportunity has arisen to make more of our spare time. Also I am tired of our country's political issues, immigration, and the Justice system. For us, the UK doesn't hold whatever spark it used to. We are both outdoorsy people, love good weather, and bbq's. My partner has extended family in Oz so we would get support. Its just quite a scary proposition and exciting at the same time.
  5. I would be really interested to know what reasons members of this forum had for making the big move to Oz. Now and again I just panic a little in my justifications for the move and whether I am doing it for the right reasons. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated ? Regards, Wendy.
  6. Thank you Sinob for our first reply. We would really appreciate a précis of your experience in Oz. How's life treating you ? Thank you Blossom 79 for the welcome. You have a cat on your profile picture. Do you own cats in Oz ? If we are fortunate to make it to Oz we will probably have to start out in Adelaide. How long have you resided there ?
  7. Me and my other half have just joined this site. We are in the early stages of our dream to emigrate to Oz. I am sure that as time passes we will be utilising this site and posting a million questions to the Poms in Oz community. Thanks for reading, catch up soon. Wendy & Craig.
