  1. Yes that is what I'm afraid they might say I have done and I don't want to pay the visa fee and get a refusal ? but it depends of they will count date to date or just month to month .... Just to clarify .... this from the guidance from the DIBP For points to be awarded as a skilled employment you must first meet the indicative skill level for your nominated occupation. In the case of the occupation I am applying for this is a completion of a degree and at least one years post qualification employment which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation. Only then can I start counting my period of employment to get 36 months and claim 5 points. So I have to have got my degree done one years employment.. then start counting the 36 months so from getting my degree four years employment before I can claim 5 points.
  2. Yes I have worked in the same job role for over ten years and still work in the role I have wage slips and letters from HR and managers. but because it only become's "Skilled employment" from when I got my degree ( I completed my degree while working full time) I can only count the month from completion of my degree to clime the five points Im just worried how they will calculate the months will it be calculated from the date of my graduation certificate or the month of graduation?
  3. Hello yes .. I am applying for a 189 visa and claimed five points for overseas work experience. for the points to be awarded as skilled employment I need to firstly have completed my degree in relation to my nominated employment then completed one years post qualification employment then the 3 years is counted ( 1 year plus 36 months) so basically I need to have worked in my job for four years from completion of my degree to claim the five points.. the only technically thats confusing me is how they calculate the dates will it be calculated from the date of my graduation certificate or the month of graduation? thanks for your reply
  4. I am not sure if this has been covered before but any advice would be much appreciated. I have submitted my EOI and got an invitation to a apply. I have claimed for 5 points for work experience however my problem is when now looking through all my documents I entered on my EOI dated stared degree to dates degree complete 20/05/2010 (20/05/2010 date I completed my course) but when I look at me degree certificate its dated 18/06/2010 (date of graduation) I submitted my EOI on 08/06/2014 and got an invitation to apply on the 22/06/2014. Now if I submit my visa application will the CO work from dates on my degree certificate and say that I am only in skilled employment 1 year + then the 36 months which is 18/06/2014 (date of graduation certificate) and I submitted my EOI on 08/06/2014 so I have missed the skilled employment by ten days?? any help would be much appreciated
  5. I am looking for some advice before I submit my 189 visa application with regards claiming point for work experience… I have had my degree qualification and work experience assessed by vetassess when you fill in the vetassess application form you have to enter a date employment stated and ended there is no option to put current job role or leave this option blank to show you are currently still in the job role. So my employment in relation to the skilled occupation I have nominated it dated through vetassess from 01/2008 (date started in job role) till 01/2014 (this is the date I applied for skills assessment) even though I continue to be in the same employment role to date. In order to claim points for work experience I need to be able in include the months working in the job role from 2010 (when I gain my degree) till June 2014 will the fact that my vetassess says 01/2014 be an issues? Or can I just provided employment evidence from 01/2014 – till 06/2014?? Secondly … When filling in my EOI and providing qualification evidence you fill in the dates qualification started and dates qualification ended I have imputed the dates I started at university till the dates the degrees courses ended - however as certificates are not issued to a few weeks after completion of the course my degree certificates are dated a few weeks after the course completion date I entered? Is this an issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  6. Hello i'm looking at submitting my vetassess in the next few days has anyone submitted on line and scanned certificates do they accept black and white scanned documents and do the documents scanned have to be certified?
  7. Hi All, To complete my application for assessment of my employment I need to ask my employer for a job role reference. I am applying as a project builder and just wondered if anyone had done this before and knows what sort of thing is looked for. I was going to ask my employer to basically confirm my employment and then state my job role / responsibilities as bullet points so it matches the description of the job role under Project Builder, as it does. Would this be adequate or is anyone aware of other details that should be included? Thanks to anyone who may be able to help, although I suspect it is quite a narrow amount of people who may to able to answer this... Hi Ben - i am also thinking of taking the same route as yourself have you done you assessment yet? what was your outcome?
  8. Purely depends on your work experience. I went for project builder as my work is predominantly minor works projects up to circa £1.5m. Read the vetassess description closely. Thanks i've got ten years experience as a Building control Surveyor/surveying and also a bit of project management for Local Government mainly smaller schemes. Just debating which route would match more.. thanks

  10. Went through VETASSESS myself and was quite weird. I am Chartered (MCIOB), not interested! Got a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, yes fine however wanted most information about my HND Building Studies completed years ago and long forgotten about! My chosen profession of Project Builder went through without any issues however I think it does show that HND is recognised and respected. Hello - If possible could you tell me your work experience.. I have the same qualifications as yourself and also chartered I am just starting my vetassess application and am unsure if to nominate Project Builder or construction project manager? Any advice would be much appreciated
