  1. We lived in Melbourne and moved over to WA for the same reason, OH a FIFO worker and was losing too much time travelling. Albany and Esperance are a long way from Perth Airport, not good for coming off a 4 week swing and having to drive another 7 hours! I would definately stay further up.
  2. Well its obviously a load of rubbish if they think a weekly shop is 42GBP!, or 33 in the UK
  3. There is no primary applicant. Everyone has to have their own RRV so you need to apply for 4!
  4. You will pay tax here, the rent you make is income. You can offset things like maintenance, mortgage interest, agent fees etc.
  5. But you havent made 45 years contributions here but do you expect to get Medicare free?
  6. I could be wrong I just know that on other temp visa's if you split up you are supposed to inform Immigration.
  7. I think you should have informed DIBP when you separated, are you still on the first visa even though you are not together?
  8. Definately not, you will face deportation and a ban if caught!
  9. Its a lot of years since my OH done his licence but I think now Future Skills do the skills assessment that you need for your visa, you should also get your OSTR which will get your a restricted licence. When you are here you then have to apply to the licencing board in whatever state you are in, this is when you need to do gap courses and supervised work to gain your A Grade licence.
  10. Australian Electoral Commission, you only need to do this if you are a citizen and registered to vote
  11. Sorry I dont know the answer to your question as licencing is forever changing and my partner did it 7 years ago! I wouldnt go too far back on the posts, this thread has been going so long a lot of it will be out of date.
  12. Stop committing traffic offences then and you will have nothing to stress about!
  13. If they enter on Australian Passports, they are entering as Australians so will be on a visa even though they are British by descent.
  14. I dont have it but its not just how you are now, they take into account how bad it may get in the future and how much it might cost in medicare. Hope its ok though and you can get your visa
  15. But that is is job to help you gain a visa not with licencing. For that job you may just need a restricted licence. What state are you going to? Contact the licencing authority in the state and they will give you all the licencing information. Each state has their own licencing authority and different requirements and you can only actually get a licence once you have either an ARTC or an OSTR and are in Australia.
  16. The skilled visa will not allow him to work as an electrician. A visa does not mean you are licensed, he will still need to gain an Electrical licence in whatever state he chooses to go to.
  17. if you have Pr already why do you need to go through a skills assessment? It has changed a lot so am not sure nowbut you should need an ARTC the apply for your licence through energy safe just ignore this I have just read what you need to do now it has changed a lot!
  18. Dont be so ridiculous! Why would anyone want to lie about their bill - here's ours to show definately not understated.
  19. If you are renting the landlord pays the rates so unless you are planning to buy right away you can forget that for a while. You will need to pay water usage though. got that bill today as well $70 since 10/2 till 17/4 but there is only two of us 4 weeks out of 5.
  20. Dont know yet only been back from WA for a couple of months, lived here previously though and I cant ever remember having huge bills
  21. gas bill in today $149 for 67 days for a 4x2. There are 2 of us for 4 weeks and 3 of us on the 5 week, have had heating on in the early mornings and late evenings for a bit.
  22. Its my OH that is a spark, got a bit quiet here just now on the jobs, he was in the mines finding a bit harder than the last year or so, they keep asking for more and more tickets! Hopefully will pick up soon, some of them seem to be starting to man up. We started off in Melbourne but came over here as he was doing FIFO at the time.
