  • Greetings, any UK bobbies considering the move? I sent their recruitment an email asking some basic questions but if others have any information/advice to share, perhaps we can make this topic a bit of a resource hub for applicants/hopefuls. I've been in 9 years and was actually hoping for a recruitment drive back in 2016/17/18 (after which I sort of gave up hope). I'm now married with 2 children and recently bought a house, so ideally I would have really preferred to move 2-3 years ago, but it is what it is.  Anyone here a former UK cop or knows any former UK cops who are officers in Queensland and can offer any info on what the basic differences are in da

  • Hi,  I submitted application 2 mths ago and just logged in to add my returned police check.   i noticed that my partners name is showing and can expand to add evidence but doesn’t state what to add. I didn’t add any evidence for him as my sponsor as didn’t say anywhere about this. Have I done something wrong and do we need to add info for him? Thanks as I’m now panicking.

  • Hi.  We are dual citizens living in Sydney planning to move back to Uk and maybe sell Australian property for family reasons/ interest rates  to reduce complexity. We would like option to return later to Australia maybe.  Would really appreciate  suggestions how we could maintain bank accounts etc with no fixed address having sold property in Australia.  Is this is a good idea or are there other ideas people have found worked. We will inherit Uk property post our retirement so could rent in Uk for next 20 years or buy using Australian profit on property as deposit.  Family in mostly based in Perth and UK (children)   thanks in advance.    Kind Regard

Hi, we are moving over from the uk to the Gold Coast next May 2025 but our daughter will be 16 then and left school permanently. If we had stayed she would have gone onto study for her A Levels . Will she be too old to go to school in Gold Coast and where will she need to go to get her qualifications to gain entry into University? hope someone can help.

  • Hi all,   I’ve been meaning to write this post for a longer time. Almost a year in fact.  Many of you followed our journey, and after a lot of setbacks, we are here! When I say ‘we’, I mean me and my 2 girls.  My relationship with my now ex, was rocky for a number of years. And after 15 years of waiting for him to get the visa, I went and got it myself. Then 6 days after I got the visa, he decided he didn’t want to go (so I left him behind and now we are in the throws of divorce).  After all that delay, our son turned 18 just after we got the visa, and as his father was now staying behind in the UK, my son stayed too (he also has a UK gf). 😔 Life here
