Hi All, We are moving back to the UK in June.  I remember when moving out to Aus in 2018 I had to clean everything and disinfect everything we shipped. Do we need to do something similar on the way back? I can't find anything on the UK website, they seem more concerned about custom duty than biological hazards 😄 Thanks.

We are at the beginning of our journey to Australia and are trying to get a good idea of costs that aren’t always obvious.  we are on a tight budget and it would be super useful if we could really pin down how much we need. I’m think £35000?   we have two children (13 and 9)who will need to attend school when we arrive also bringing the dog.    If anyone who has made the move from UK relatively recently knows their total spend to move would be super great if you could share some details with us.    Tia.     

Just wondering, at what stage did you realise that Australia was the place that you wanted or did not want to spend the rest of your days ? For me before I had even set foot in Australia I knew and voiced, that I would want to return home to the UK one day,  As a couple we set a goal of 10 years then we would return, with hindsight this was a bit naive I now realise this, as a lot can and has happened in the 9 years we have been here, for example, we are no longer living as a married couple (we are like best buddies and share the house still), my wife no longer would consider going back home, we also have two children now, where as we came with only one,  and finally

Hi all 👋🏻 new here! It’s always been my dream to emigrate to Aus. I was there on a WHV there back in 2019 and was fortunate to work as a primary school teacher during this time (Victoria registered) but was unable to secure sponsorship as primary teaching wasn’t on the SOL at the time.    Fast forward a few years, I’ve been teaching in Scotland and want to move back to Aus on a 190 visa hopefully. I’ve had my skills assessment completed and I have tried to do everything I can to get my points up (I sat the IELTS exam a few weeks ago, I got an 8.5 overall but sadly I only scored a 7.0 on the writing section, so I’m classed as ‘proficient’ gaining me an extra 10

Hi all,  I recently sent off a CF83 to enquire about paying back missed NI years. HMRC inducted online it may take over a year to receive a reply. Now I’m not complaining but was shocked to receive a response after only 3 months, however they sent it to my old address in Scotland, not my current Australian address. Has anyone else encountered this? Are they processing them quickly or are we just lucky?? My partner got his too but it came to Australia! I’ve no idea how to contact them to make sure they have my correct address. thanks for any advice
