  • Hey guys, Man, I’m so over the feeling of being torn between Oz and the UK..  I moved back from Sydney after 10 years there and have now been in London for 2.5 years. We’re at a crossroads in that I’ve just quit my current company and have two offers on the table, one in London and a much better one in Sydney and I just can’t decide what to do. A few months back we thought we were gunning to return to Sydney now we’re seeing the beauty on our doorstep. it feels like whichever decision we make is a compromise, choose Sydney and we forego the comfort and closeness of family, choose London and we miss out on the wonderful lifestyle we used to have. Ahhhhh

  • Has anyone had family and friends essentially forget about you after you leave the UK. Most of my family and friends do not want to engage with me much anymore. There’s no excuse these days to not keep in touch. I’ve been in Australia 17 years and it’s exhausting trying to maintain contact with people who don’t want to keep in touch.  I have a trip back soon and trying to lock in a time with my childhood friends and even my sister is becoming impossible. They are all busy. My sister has even booked herself a 2 week Mediterranean holiday the same time I’m there. I’m only there for 4 weeks and her answer was I’ll see you at some point. We haven’t had a fall out or anything,

For me before I had even set foot in Australia I knew and voiced, that I would want to return home to the UK one day,  As a couple we set a goal of 10 years then we would return, with hindsight this was a bit naive I now realise this, as a lot can and has happened in the 9 years we have been here, for example, we are no longer living as a married couple (we are like best buddies and share the house still), my wife no longer would consider going back home, we also have two children now, where as we came with only one,  and finally

  • I was three years old when I went to Australia with mum and dad however I am now 21 and just returned with mum and family back to United Kingdom. I am living with my grandparents and now I find it hard to get passport. NHS number register for a doctor and leave my driving license as it is Australian passport authorities now saying because I am 21. My birth certificate doesn’t mean nothing so I know am I to register as a British citizen? I was born in this country. My mum and dad were born in this country. My grandparents are born in this country and yet I am up all the trouble , to access my Australian bank account as I cannot open a bank account in the UK
