Well I have decided to take a back seat and relax, and stop getting my knickers into a twist with this rental business. I have decided after much thought to wait for it:

LET MY OTHER HALF DEAL WITH IT

I know there will be some of you out there who think I am being totally selfish but I have had 3 days of trying to secure a rental, as well as 3 days of being patronised and moaned at by my OH, who tells me to be firmer with the agents, and not to be a shrinking violet :arghh:

So tomorrow I am up early as usual, only this time I won´t be jumping in the car looking for a place to rent I will be getting my hair done and then doing some sight seeing and maybe just maybe if I am in a relaxed mood I might brave a couple of agents

Love it!!!!!!

Thanks.

I am fed up of being shouted at through no fault of my own, it is not my fault that these agents are bloody lazy and only do viewings once every blue moon :arghh: these people have completely ruined my holiday mood  so I am just going to take a chill pill, paint my finger nails and enjoy the rest of the day wondering how my OH is going to penetrate these rental agents  whilst he is as he says ´working all day´. Mm I think it will be a case of apologising to Mrs Shoes and admitting defeat

Any teachers on the forum... please check my other post as I'm really nervous about my chances of getting a visa accepted.

Some IELTS practice and reading tips I can find in preperation for Saturday. Actually feeling really positive about it despite reading some of the other posts where people are having to re-sit a few times to get the right scores so fingers crossed I'll pass first time. Only need 7s but it's the academic paper so will have to see how it pans out.

Also, I used a voucher I've had for a while to buy an AA Keyguide to Australia to have a proper read once the IELTS is done with to keep up the excitement.

Yesterday, I started planning with my best friend to do a 3 week trip to NSW later this year to get a feel for different areas, sign up with some job agents/ rental agents etc. No dates set yet, will work that out once the application is in and I have an idea about when I might be able to move

All very exciting!!

Honestly, it's the bit I am least looking forward to! I'm already feeling rather assertive, and I'm nowhere near Perth yet. Please tell us as soon as you've sorted a place and describe how you've forgotten about the agony Loveshoes!!!!

Well over the last 3 days, sorted OH's shed out (not too traumatic) lol. House cleaned and photographed for rental and today power washed patio. Really exciting stuff but needs to be done. Oh and ordered vaccum storage bags so I can take more clothes with me. All the rubbish jobs that have to be done, I'm sure there will be more to come. Sharon

Going for my hair cut, and then I may go & see the turtles in the local turtle place, well I am hoping to see the turtles, I don´t have a clue when they are there or what their breeding patterns are, all I know is where the turtle sanctuary is.

Not a rental agent in sight today

reason im asking is ,im in oz working on a 457 visa with 5 kids and my wife, i have just went through the whole medical insurance to medicare, and just secured a rental...depending on the area i may be able to help you....im from glasgow, been here since december...im going between nsw sydney and western aus..

the way the rental pish works here is first and last month and deposit, then they want pref bankstatement or rent/mort statement or i got away with showing copy of deed from hse in uk..they also want copy of visa, passport and possibly contract of employment/or bank statement...try quikka or quakka its a paper over here ,or find out yer area and try good old fashion gumtree, i got a new build 4 bedroom with 2 bathroom /1x cinema room for $430 pw /in western aus, just to give you an idea.....you need any info message me. my visa was 457 and once lodged it took 3 weeks to come back.....big demand out here for mines/diesel mechanics/fitters and lots more trades......

One step forwards and 6 back. Flights booked for May, packing and decluttering underway. OH gets letter from hospital to say he needs a CT scan and then will need to see specialist. He wants to put flights back another 4 months, which I can understand. Will have to see what happens after his hospital visits.

Bit of wallpapering - had never done that before but looks alright.....now on with decluttering

Oh and we're staying up tonight to phone the agency who seem to have gone blind, deaf, dumb and stupid and lost the ability to answer emails :arghh: but will be ever so :wubclub: when talking to them
