shipping went wthout a hitch yesteray, house currently looks like someone has tipped it upside down and shaken it but have had a few hours out today to chill as couldn't face anymore, i'm now refreshed and ready to start tackiling the mess

Last night one of our old casserole dishes ended up with burnt curry on it and i got great satisfaction from just dumping it straight in the bin!!!! looking forward to throwing more stuff the same way over the next few weeks

back to work today after what has seemed like a very fast 2 days off, not off until next weekend now. Have just worked out that i only have 21 shifts left to do at work, that makes it seem very real.

now that the shipping has gone we can start to sort through all the rubbish we have left here and sell all the furniture etc. a few very cleansing weeks are ahead. I am getting so excited too, keep logging into the manage my flights section of Qantas website to check the flights are still there

Off out again to fight my way through this rental system, been approved for one, but it is far too small, and really over priced, it is on the beach and we don´t want to be on the beach, prefer to be nearer to the CBD for work.

I have the deposit sitting and waiting (rather dangerously in my bank account) why won´t they pull their bloody fingers out ....

lost count of the amount of times the agent has rung me to ask me to hold off the other place we have been approved for, the owner is busy until late morning so I am waiting here trying to be patient :arghh: and I just know that we will be turned down because of the dog ..........

Jet washing patio, exterior painting, hanging baskets, sorting out stuff for school jumble sale and today is supposed to be Mothers Day! Haven't stopped all weekend but house should be ready soon for estate agent photos.

Really hope to be watching the Grand Prix in person next year!

Had a lovely last Mothers Day out in the UK and picked a great place, why we haven't been to Moors Valley Country Park before I don't know..........hope there are places that well laid out in Oz.

Otherwise done little as STILL waiting for the elusive house buyer, have to see what the viewer on Saturday said later today.

I really, really, really, really want to go early now......except I have another niece/nephew due on the 5th Sept so feel duty bound to meet him/her first.

I have spent 3 hours de-potting eyeshadows to go in to palettes. So much to do and I leave on Saturday morning leaving hubby in charge to guide the shippers the week later. I should be more stressed and spending time a bit more productively but well I am not:-) Fur baby goes for blood test tomorrow more stressed about that! Other than that I might get an hour by the pool today:-)

Hello beautiful fellow Aus dreamers! :cute:

It's been a while, I got a bit down and admitted defeat when most of our savings for hubby's visa and flights etc was eaten by the car totally dying and other big bills popping up unwantedly! I am still feeling a bit deflated, but I am determined not to be defeated! I didn't even go to my Aus passport application appointment! I was just looking at ways to 'improve life here' when I woke up! I realised that I feel better today because the sun is shining, but it wasn't shining yesterday! If I was in Aus I would feel better every day! I remembered the Aviation High School for my pilot future pilot son, the better career prospects for my husband, the warm tranquil seas, the waving palms, the pool in the back yard, the brightly coloured parrots flying freely, and I reminded myself why I wanted to leave here in the first place. I remembered that life here is not at all what we want it to be, and I decided to kick myself up the butt and get back on track! So...we lost a few grand that would have gotten us to Aus by August, it's only going to be a few months delay while we get that back and it means that we will be able to go to our friend's wedding in September! I AM BACK!!!!

On the up... my hubby, son, and I along with other family members were on Live TV on Friday morning! - My mother in law was crowned Britain's Super Gran on DayBreak, so we all had to be out of bed by 3am to get to cheer her on! Did anyone see it? Here's the link - http://www.itv.com/daybreak/lifestyle/familiesandparenting/greatestgransjeandonegal/

Friday was also hubby's birthday and we went out for an absolutely fabulous dinner at Cottons Caribbean Restaurant in Islington, North London in the evening with friends. Had a great time!

How is every one doing? Are you closer to getting to Aus? I have really missed you all. PIO is a very special support network.

One step forwards and 6 back. Flights booked for May, packing and decluttering underway. OH gets letter from hospital to say he needs a CT scan and then will need to see specialist. He wants to put flights back another 4 months, which I can understand. Will have to see what happens after his hospital visits.

Hello, what's happening with your husband? I hope he is ok. I am also going to the hospital having tests and scans, might have to have an op soon, they think I have a matured state of endometriosis!

Today I have done nothing to get to Oz and have decided to put an end to the to and fro with the case officer. They will be not getting any more further info apart from another letter from my former boss saying there is no more they can provide.

So they can just go ahead and reject the visa if that is what they are going to do and then we can get on with our lives.

3 years, 7,500 pounds and about 400 documents compiled. enough

Wishing all you guys the best with all your apps and journey to Oz

Millie x

Hi Millie,

It is soooooooooooooooo easy to get discouraged and fed up and down hearted. Follow your heart, not your tired feet or your aching head. Your heart knows best!

Hi Chantel, I was thinking the other day hadn't seen any of your posts lately, am really glad you are BACK and fighting and determined to get there!!!!

I could not watch the link here from Spain, but congrats to your MIL.

Still sifting through the paperwork here - if I have to shuffle another bit of paper I am gonna scream. Don't feel like we will ever get there at this rate. Spoke to agent and he says all good and stop having a panic attack about the SkillsSelect, he has had a few meetings about it and he said not as bad as people think, so here's hoping he's right.
