JoandJon
1. Marks and Spencers range of ready meals (you can keep the pasta ones though) - does that count as one?2. Deuchars IPA 3. Caledonian Golden Promise 4. Badgers Todgerpuller 5. Mcsweens Haggis 1. Cook your own 2.3.4. Brew your own 5. Make friends with your local butcher I'm harsh aren't I! Seriously check out 'the church of Dan's' and investigate the local ales, there's some seriously good ones - and they'll give you advice if you just ask! paisleylass
I agree with the first choice as they are so nice but have not got a clue what the others are is number 4 an ale or something? :laugh:I suspect number 4 is a cheeky wind-up, I just googled it and the only result was this very thread on PIO! I love trying new food and don't think I'll miss much, but think I will be craving Morrisons vegetable crackers, French Fancies and Coors Light (which is sort of American, tho it is brewed in the UK!). However I'm sure there will be enough new goodies to try that will make me forget this lot! Fresh baked Anzac biccies - looking forward to trying those! kernow43
My sister was asking me; "if i had to pick 5 food items that i really miss from the UK what would it be?" I had to pick things that she could post out to me. this was great as i didn’t find it hard to come up with a list so hopefully they are on their way to me as we speak! mushy peas (quick soak dried peas) to have with my fish and chips! UK Cadbury chocolate bars Walkers Quavers crisps Blue Ribands walkers cheese and onion crisps If anyone else here in Australia is missing the Uk food - what would be your top 5? I love Australian food and the lifestyle no question about the quality of life and food here. I simply want a few of my favoutite foods that i have grown up with.... AND - does anyone know if they can get the mushy peas here in the Melbourne are (not the tin variety ) soak your own peas, very cheap

rikyuu
Sausages (tried everything, they look right, but they just don't taste right. Bit hard like a frankfurter) Bacon (again looks alright, but it's more like precooked ham). Kebab meat and chips (from the same shop in a tray. Not everyone's taste nor recommended as a regular meal, but takeaways rarely do kebab and chips from the same place!)
