Yesterday received following reply against application status query: "We are undertaking routine document checks, apologies for the delay. My time line is very near your's (just 1 month ahead of you in launching the application & getting the CO) and I was also thinking for sending a query but now I do not need to, atleast for next 2 months. If they are saying 3-6 months to you then it must be 2-5 months for me. But I will ask my agent to send the query after 2 months and will share the CO's reply her on PIO. I think the normal security checks are being done in approx 10 to 12 months for Pakistani applicants so hopefully the New Year would bring lots of good news for us. It is 6 months as my CO also said that the checks are to be completed not before 6 months. Will send him status inquiry in the next month. I hope they have completed it by then. Not yet the Golden Ticket, but after 3 and half month since I got my CO (on 5 july 2011), this morning, two officers from The Australian Embassy in Belgrad knocked on my door at work. No phone verification, no e-mail...just I woke up with them at my doorsteps...The interview lasted about 35 minutes, and among other things (wich I will not publicly tell) they wanted to see the original of my architect bachelor degree... ...part of external security checkings for Romania (HR country)... All good now they said, and I have to wait untill wednesday when, so they say, my CO will contact me regarding my application! so, please, fingers crossed everyone, maybe my golden ticket is on it's way! After repeatedly hearing of COs telling people 'checks will take an unspecified amount of time...' this is HIGHLY ENCOURAGING!!! Thanks a whole bunch for sharing with the rest of us.
