Hey Sian, Thanks for the update.yes, I did mail the agency right away[ray white].I will check out the place that you stayed in too.Once I land out htere in Melbourne then will get in touch with them and fix my date of arrival in Albury.Yes, we are gonna find it really different out there coz we are coming from Mumbai where there is alot of population.I keep showing pics of Albury to my children so that they are not very surprised with the place.My daughter is feeling sad leaving india as she has alot of friends and is gonna miss all of them. I did go though the site you sent me on the INDIAN Association.I s there any other site of ANGLO-INDIANS IN Albury? thanks for the help.

Hi, I will be entering Oz [NSW] by the 23rd of April on a 475 visa.I am a teacher from India and will be living in Albury [murrey region ] as I have been granted a regional sponspored visa.What is the procedure for getting registered as this is the first thing I will have to do to get a job.Thanks.

Hey there, At last we have booked our tickets and leave on the 22rd of April from India.We may spend a couple of days in Melbourne and then head for Albury. Yes, I was very busy getting things organised.My family friends did drive down to Albury to check out the place and I got a very positive reply form them.Well, Just want a little help from your side.Would like to knoe if there are any churches around so that we can go to and where did you stay for the two weeks before you settled in your rental home?I would like to know the name of the hotel so that we too can stay there and check out some rentals around.Hoping for some response.Thank you.

There is lots of lovely areas in Albury. We liked West and East Albury best. Thurgoona is also nice but it is a bit out of town. But has everything there so is like a mini town. None of the agents will rent to you unless you are here. We were lucky as we had come in May and made contact and she was then able to organise it for us. But we stayed in a hotel for the first 2 weeks while we got the necessities in. We are on a 457. I know in Albury you have to pay 4500 per year on a 457 but in Wodonga you don't. We have Matthew in St Pats which is private and is around 1600 per year. That includes books etc. If I were you I would start registering with some of the employment agencies as it isn't that easy to get a job. So they will then have you in mind. In May the weather will be starting to get chilly again so keep wrapped up. It is the night times that get very cold. If you look at any house let me know and I can check the area they are in. Thank you so much for this information and the extended help.Yes, I have gone through some sites on renting a place.As you say it is very difficult and will have to be around there.I but will try and contact an agent to get things a bit organised from here.Regarding schooling my kids are 12 and 13yrs so I 'm not sure as what credentials are the schools looking for.Will they go to High school .If so then I will look up schools for that age group. Well, being a teacher I will have to fill up some forms to get my teaching qualifications registered and then will proceed from there.This can be done while in Australia.Well, Its gonna be a bit stressful at the start. I will go through some rental properties and mail you the details .Thanks a ton for all the information.

Hey, I too will be landing into Oz around the first week of May.We are a family with two kids 12 and 13 yrs old.I will be headin to Albury.Accordingly which part of Albury is a better bet for residence as have to look at schools,shopping centre ect.It will be our first visit .

Hey, I don't know much about Albury expect for the information that I got from the net.But, getting it from poeple living out there is different .Well, WE are from India.I will have to come out there and search for a job.I am presently working as a teacher out here in India .I guess it will take me a while to settle and look for a job.Firstly I will have to look for some rentals and then settle my kids in a school.Well since my kids are 12 n 13 yrs old I think its gonna be high school for them .Please confirm this for me.On a 475 visa can my kids go into a public school? Yes, regardin rentals I will have to be out there to search.HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT IT?and what are their procedures? Did you too go on a 475 visa.As I have been granted the same.According to you which part of albury is good for residentials,schools . I am supposed to enter befor the 5th of May2012..So, I guess we will leave by the end of April.That is when my school closes for the summer vacation.

Hey Sian just saw your post as I too have been granted my visa yesterday and have to move to Albury.Well,I would appreciate if you can give me some infomation of this place.We are a family with 2 kids 12 and 13yrs old.How is the life style and the surroundings.You are loving it out there so I Guess it is a beautiful place.We do not have much time .we have to be in by the 5th of may.Just been getting al nervous as worried bout the kids schooling, rentals ect.Could you please help me out regarding the surroundings and the rentals.

Hey all, Been over thrilled with my visa grant today after 2yrs 5mths of waiting. Can anyone be kind enough to update me ON the place ALBURY as will be moving there with family by the end of April.Have gone through the site but extra information from people living out there will be appreciated.:yes:

:jiggy:congrats and wish youall the best for the days ahead.Me almost all done they just want pcc from vietnam as husband visited there but that is driving me mad as this is prolonging my process.Applied in sep2009 and I have already completed 2yrs and 2 months.so don't know when that day wil come for me.

Look at the actual pages of the passport that have entry and exit stamps rather than the visa's itself as if you look at them alone, it could appear that he has spent an accumulated 12 months there. The entry and exit stamps will show how long he actually accumulated in the country. It will most probably be the case that you have to have each and every page of his passport copied and certified and then you highlight the pages with the relevant stamps. As you mentioned I went through the entry and exit stamps on the passport and from the period of oct 06 - may 07 he entered vietnam in oct and exited in nov .Then again entered in dec and exited in jan. Now, for his second visa NOV-2008 TO MAY 2009.he entered in nov ,exited in dec.Re-entered in Jan and exit in feb.So what I gathered in all he entered the country 4 times and exited 4 times. So putting all the entries and exits it comes up to the total of 8 months. He went on a business visa .So does that leave me some hope for not going through this long process of getting a PCC.

Checked the visa on his passport .He was issued two visas in total each for a period of six nonths. There was a gap of about 8 months between the two visas.But according to his offshore schedual then in total he visited the country six times .[3 VISITS ON HIS FIRST VISA AND 3 VISITS ON HIS SECOND VISA]. Now , where do I stand been confused and worried coz if they do NEED A PCC then its goona be real difficult and this is going to delay my process even more further .I applied in 2009 and God knows when will it end.

I had a look through his passport and the visa and the date mentioned on is visa was 26 oct 2006 until 25 -may 2007 [ a six month visa].Then a gap of about 8 months and got another visa for six months 25-nov2008 to 24 may 2009. Now, where do i stand . If you go to see according to his schedual he visited the country thrice on his first visa and thrice on his second visa.So, how does this help.If I have to indeed get a PCC then its gonna be a real chase for me as we do not know anyone in vietnam and its gonna be real difficult.

That is what I was given to understand too,.But, I dont understand as why do they want PCC as he worked offshore and does not reside there.He only worked for a period of 1 year for this company as they location shifted .But, in that one year if you take the 1month 'ON' and 1 monnth 'OFF' then he has only vistited vietnam for a period of six months. Will it be possible if I scan his work contract that he had and send it to my CO she will have a better picture of his job discription as it mentions there 'that they will be accomodated on the rig for the period of their ON days. Will this possibley help us out?

Hi all, Can anyone pay some light on this issue. My husband has to attain a PCC from Vietnam as he has worked there.But,I am confused as how to get it .As to my knowledge you have to reside for a certain period of months to attain a pcc.But, my husband works for an offshore company[oil rigs] He does not reside in his work spot he goes on sea for 28 days and returns home[india] for the next 28 days .So, how am I supposed to get a PCC .And more over he worked in vietnam in the yr 2006 .So, how is this gonna help. Some help will be appreciated

Are you sure that you have nothing to pay on a 475 visa to the nsw coz I too applied for the same type of visa and was under the impression that we have to pay for the kids education.Please do give the website that states so.Thanks

Hey All, Its been frustrating waiting for a 475 visa. all my documents shows MET only my husband's evidence of birth had to be submitted which was done on the 7th OCT but still does not show on the online status.Its been worring me as I have waited for a long time .since 2009 and now everything looks so close but yet so far.How long more will I have to waite for the golden ticket? -
Yeah, just did it yesterday and hoping for some reply by tomorrow as she is only in the office on thursdays and fridays.form 80 too has been uploaded and medicals also have been finalised.So just waiting for the go ticket.

still no change in the online status. Its getting to me now and begnining to lose my patience.does it take the Co a long time.My online status changed to futher processing on the 26th july and it is OCTOBER so how long more will i have to wait

All our family documents too show' MET except for my husband as his evidence of birth was needed .Uploaded it on the 7th of oct.Now waiting for some good news.Hope it moves fast and my CO grants me the golden ticket as I have been waiting from 2009 for a 475 visa.some one please let me know how long wil I have to waite to hear some news.Been checking my online status every now and then.

HEY what is this form 80 about.My agent said that she will mail it to me.Now, a bit concerned as to only family members above the age of 18 has to fill up this form.Now, is it only the members that are mentioned in the application or the other family members too? a reply will be appreciated
