Correspondence from PV Team 1 asking me to arrange AOS!!!!!!!

strangely enough, the letter says they are trying to streamline the process and that although our application has not been assessed at this time they are asking for AOS, no requests for Police reports or Form 80 yet.

will keep you updated.

AT LAST!!! Fantastic news Julie, well done for keeping your cool all this time. so pleased you can get your AOS sorted before your daughter goes away. They've obviously realised that the AOS keeps holding things up for everyone.

I bet the rest of the paperwork will be requested very soon.

Good of luck with it all!!!

Excellent news! and for all parents on your date too! You may get sorted before we do... Still no news this side for an appointment/phone interview. Let us know how you get on! It seems as though you may only need one trip offshore after all.

Hi Amanda

we shot off to Centrelink this afternoon to see if we could get an appointment for our daughter. The usual thing, "oh what's this? I've never seen one of those forms before!" Luckily another member of staff overheard and came to the rescue. Apparently our daughter has to go in without out any appointment and just be ID'd and hand over the forms, they are then sent to a central processing unit. Our daughter is going in on Wednesday at 08.30' unfortunately she can't get off work tomorrow. Looks like it might be an extended off shore trip from 1st October, we will have to see how things progress. Hope your son hears soon.

Thanks for letting us know your experience of it too! It will help others I am sure. Yes, my son eventually had his forms etc accepted and was told that it will be forwarded for processing (although the lady insisted that it is immigration who process it! - I do hope it has gone to the right place, surely must have). As far as I was aware, they conduct a phone interview and then make a decision - I am not sure if that is mainly to advise what the responsibilities of the Assurer are as it is not written anywhere else. Hopefully it will be finalised for us all very soon!

Yay Julie and Tien - we got ours too!! I am off to Centrelink first thing tomorrow to get the AOS lodged. So glad to have some positive news, and hopefully when we all get our CO we will have everything in order ready to be processed!

Tien, I think each assurer has to complete an AOS form, and be present when lodging them at centrelink.

Yay!!!!:chatterbox:

Hi Tien

Yes both will need to attend and show the necessary ID. They need to have fully completed the form and have all the documents required for both. If they haven,t got all the evidence required they won,t be able to lodge the application. Dept of Human Service web site has all the details required under AOS.

Went in to Centrelink this morning, and provided the AOS forms and supporting documentation. They checked/verified my ID and scanned off the form. I guess I just wait to hear back from the AOS team now? It was pretty straight forward, but the guy didn't seem to know much about it!

Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long :cute:

Good Evening,

I sent my mother's CPV application to the parent centre in Perth yesterday by courier - does anyone have an idea as to how long it takes to receive an acknowledgement of receipt and how long after is the first payment taken? Is this done by post or by e-mail?

Many Thanks,

Purpleal

Reduction in the rate of surcharge payable to the Department of Immigration when paying Visa Application Charges by credit card - is good!

Best regards.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for sharing the info. It's a step in the right direction - shame they don't also cap it though. It can still be as high as $1735 for two. It would be even better and so easy if we could pay by online banking, maybe one day. In the meantime, it's the complicated bank draft for us.

Cheers

Amanda

Hi Amanda.

An A$ bank draft can be arranged through a couple (though not all) of the specialist currency dealers in the UK.

Feel able to send a PM or (preferably) an email to me - click on my name to the left of this post - if you would like a contact name and phone number/email address.

Best regards.
