Hi,

I received my ENS 186 4 months ago at a great company that I really used to enjoy working for. 2 months ago I won the lottery (what are the odds right) and told myself I would put the money aside, keep my head down pretend it didn't happen and keep working till the 2 year mark.

It's not working, I can't concentrate at work I am too excited about what I want to do with my life and I am struggling to get the motivation to wake up in the morning to go to work to earn an income that I no longer need.

I don't want to tell my employer that I won the lottery, in fact I don't want to tell anyone. I am worried if I resign and they contact the department my PR will be taken away from me. Do you think I am being paranoid? I justify it by thinking that I could convince the department this happened out of the blue, that I had the intention to stick it out for 2 years....

My family is settled here by the way. I didn't win a "ridiculous" amount, just enough to live modestly for the rest of my life so packing up and moving elsewhere is not an option.

Would love to see if your still saying that and laughing if, god forbid, you end up waiting 14+months for any contact.

Mate what difference would it make anyway? Isn't the point of getting this Visa to keep living here? It doesn't mean you "start" living here. It's only a piece of paper that allows you to do what you already doing. Keep being positive and dont stop living your life because of the wait 😉

  • Evidence that the visa application will be employed full-time in nominated position for at least 2 years
  • Proof of licencing/registration

Nomination Granted: 04/05/19

CO visa request for info (May 4th, 2019)

  • AFP Police Check (provided on 07/05/19)

Visas Granted: 09/05/19

Thank you for all of the info you've all provided on this forum. Wishing everyone all the best with their visa applications!

Cheers,

Bobjims

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well.

Silent reader here. I just have a quick question. I kind of sense that there have been more approvals on the TRT nowadays. I'm currently waiting for my DE visa, been waiting for the nomination approval for 15 months now. Very frustrated. As my MA never mentioned about the grandfathering system, which supposedly I'm qualified to lodge TRT just 2 months after i lodged the DE, Would it make sense/allowed to submit another nomination (TRT) while waiting for the DE?

Thank you for any replies.

No, Nomination hasn't been approved yet.

There isn't any complexity to my case, medical is all good, police/character is all good, I have worked in the same role in the same company for over 5 years as per Visa requirements and I have met all TRT eligibility for the 186

Our Company was audited earlier in the year, and our GM got a call from immigration late March to say we have passed the audit and that processing will now continue.

About 1 month ago, my colleague who actually applied later than I did , and applied through virtually identical circumstances, same occupation, even shorter amount of time in Australia than me, same country, got his Visa and Nomination approved simultaniously.

It's incredibly frustrating for that to happen, it felt encouraging when his PR was approved in the first week, but a month later and month 15 since I applied, it really feels like they have just forgotten my visa application.

Hi. Are all companies audited?

Hi,

I got my nomination approved (20th April) then immi requested us to do our medicals (22nd April) which we did last week (1st May). Does your application normally get looked at again 28 days from when they request something or 28 days after you submit there request?

Thanks ☺️

Same question exactly what I asked. One of the forum members took 33 days.

Yes, but it costs a lot of money. It does look like they dont process DE applicants from removed occupations anymore.

Thanks. After they did there medicals or from the request?

From the request - based on past statistics and forum info, it's anything from 30 to 40ish days... it all depends, i am 36 days today since medicals were requested.

Thanks I’ve a good couple of weeks to wait yet then. Did you do your medicals straight away? Best of luck and I’m sure it will come soon!

You are welcome and thanks, best of luck too and to all of us. I did mine after nomination was approved, and on the same day we were doing the medicals (scheduled them beforehand), we were sent the request from the immigration to do the medicals. Hoping we receive a positive reply soon - have a wedding to plan, invites, trips to organize,... wife is looking at dresses (traditional kimono wedding) so we kind of focus our attention on other things until we hear hopefully good news 🙂

Hi all,

Not sure how many will be able to assist with this, as I'm an offshore applicant, maybe @RjayD if you are still around ?

I received a request for further documentation "Employment registration licensing / professional membership", for which the details read:

Provide evidence from the relevant Australian registration or licensing authority that you hold the relevant registration or licence or that you will be able to meet necessary registration or licensing requirements.

Alternatively, provide evidence that you do not need to hold registration or a licence to work in the nominated occupation.

I'm a little confused because, having not worked in Australia, I do not have an Australian license of course. I do have the Skills Assessment already attached which states:

Engineers Australia is pleased to advise that your qualification from the following institution:

meets the current requirement for the following occupation:

Professional Engineer Skill Level 1 Chemical Engineer 233111 June 2000.

I'm not sure what do do here since I'm pretty sure I've already fulfilled the requirements.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @davey5593

Yes, i am still around. I am no expert on this topics but i will share my interpretation of the request from the immigration department. This is purely my opinion and is in no way completely authentic. You will definitely need to consult your MA and your Employer to decide on the next steps. I haven't had any communication with the Department on my visa processing. I am now nervous that I may have a similar request but I sincerely hope that I don't get any such request 🙂

Provide evidence from the relevant Australian registration or licensing authority that you hold the relevant registration or licence or that you will be able to meet necessary registration or licensing requirements. -

Alternatively, provide evidence that you do not need to hold registration or a licence to work in the nominated occupation

As far as I understand there are lot of regulations/permits/licenses required for personnel in Australia, especially related to safety. To give you an example : A fork lift operator needs an authorized permit, similarly does a maintenance engineer who works on heights above a certain limit. So in your case you might want to look at the duties/job responsibilities of the nominated position to see if any of the duties that you have stated needs a license/permit in Australia. If yes, you will have to provide an evidence that you are eligible to get the required license or provide some kind of proof that none of the duties need any special permits/licenses/registration. Your Company and MA might help with the required research and provide suitable documents as evidence. I don't think this request has anything to do with the Engineers Australia Outcome letter, which certifies your Engineering qualification to be equivalent to Australian standards and that you have relevant Engineering experience.

Again, this is purely my understanding on the subject which might not be accurate. And I am sincerely hoping that it turns out to be a simple clarification needed on one of the points on your application.I recommend you to consult your MA and get more clarity on the request (from the Case officer) before planning on the next steps.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Cheers!

RjayD

Hi,

I am totally new to the application process so please forgive me if this has been answered somewhere else.

Currently I am on a 457 visa and my employer has agreed to sponsor me for PR through the 186 ENS. Myself and my fiancé are included on my current visa and due to the nature of the 457 partner visa my fiancé has also managed to secure a job.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to prove dependency of and what type of evidence should be submitted if she is not financially dependent on me due to her employment. Now I understand that the only reason she can work is due to her position on my visa so I plan to submit the 457's as evidence as well as rental agreements and relationship proof but I keep coming back to dependency. Is it really that important to the CO's that the joint applicant is dependent? Surly it is better that they are working and paying taxes into the system.

Same question for proving that she is a member of my family unit, there is only us in our family unit and these questions seem more to do with a child as opposed to my fiancé.

Any help would be greatly appriciated
