Guest51810
Yeah it was kinda stupid of us to go to the beach that day, im not sure if it was just warmer than expected. I just went into the water a lot to try and cool down. Make the most of it guys because it'll probably turn to 20oc and constant rain when I arrive lol

boganbear
Living in Brisbane is a nightmare if you have to wear a suit. Most guys don't wear ties or jackets, so I haven't worn them either. However, my boss has now ordered me to do so when visiting customers and even has 2 people in the office spying on me and reporting back to him if I don't wear them. I have to walk to their offices, normally at the other end of town and even without wearing jacket and tie I turn up lookng like I've run a marathon in my suit. No customers have complained and I've even had meetings with them and they are in shorts and t shirts...and a couple in cycling Lycra which is offputting! I've explained that I don't cope well with the heat but he won't listen saying the heat is the same in Brisbane as in Perth (bullshit). It's verging on bullying

Orlando
It's not even the middle of September, and apart from the odd, and welcome shower, all we are seeing here in Sydney is sun, sun, sun, and after chilly mornings, warm, warm, warm. Don't come to Australia if you can't put up with at least eight months of this ever year, followed by what, in England, would be classed as summer, not winter! Huh, first world problems!!! MARYROSE02
Truth be told I don't even care about the First world except for Fortress Australia and perhaps Britain south of Hadrian's Wall!

MARYROSE02
Charming. @Harpodom Can I take my vote back and give it to someone else!?t You mean you voted for me? That's what happens when you think my following the Huns cancels out all my other Catholic sins, eg admiring Eric Faulkner's haircut (was that his name?) and hero worshipping Begbie. bristolman
What's this fascination people have with the sea ? I don't get it. It's just water with salt in it.
Guest51810
I don't have a fascination with it but it's a nice view. I could put up two views that I've had from work. Would you pick a car park or a beach? I'll rephrase it if you want - I'd like to be somewhere sunny with a nice view

Guest51810
Do you work from home? My work view sucks. My last one in the Lake District was of skidhaw hill so that was nice. Then the one before that was obviously two gorgeous beaches. I have some lovely views where I live though
Bound4Tassie
Some people genuinely do like to be near the sea. My husband hated it when we lived inland. Maybe it's because he grew up by the coast that it feels normal. Maybe there's something deeper psychologically?! I could happily live surrounded by fields. Guest51810
I'm an hour away from the sea where I live. We have the river Clyde, loads of fields, woods and some other nice views but Channel Islands definitely got me used to beaches
MARYROSE02
I would kill to be by the sea right now with a nice drink In a couple of weeks you will be able to do that, but one thing about Sydney, unlike Spain, is that our summer temperatures fluctuate, 20-40 degrees, rather than the continuous sun, every day the same in Spain. Guest51810
I kinda prefer that tbh. I think somewhere like Melbourne would be more suited to me long term than somewhere like Darwin! I like a mix of weather usually
Johndoe
What's this fascination people have with the sea ? I don't get it. It's just water with salt in it. If that's all you see then I feel sorry for you. The fascination for most, is being beside the sea as illustrated by Stacey's post.
