I was thinking about this monster today while watching the Soham Murders of Holly and Jessica and I was disgusted to learn that the Police National Data system only kicked in during 2011 ,if I heard correctly ,if they had the data system 10 yrs ago then Ian Huntly would not have been working at the school and the two girls would still be alive now , Humberside Police force were inadequate to deal with the disappearance and wasted precious time ..........Hang them for me.............

My heart goes out to Mr and Mrs Bulger. As if they have not been through enough torment over the years.

I agree he should never have been let out the first time, now let out a second time and given another new identity:mad: Too many Doo Gooders and the PC Brigade gone mad:realmad:

Ian Kevin Huntley was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, on 31 January 1974, the first son of Kevin and Linda Huntley.[14] He spent two months living in the village of Hopton-on-Sea, Norfolk, and also spent time living in Scunthorpe, north Lincolnshire.

In February 1999, Huntley (then aged 25) met 22-year-old Maxine Carr at Hollywoods nightclub in Grimsby town centre.[15] She later moved in with him at his flat in Barton-upon-Humber, a small town on the southern banks of the River Humber. Carr found a job packing fish at the local fish processing factory while Huntley worked as a barman. He also travelled to Cambridgeshire on his days off to help his father who was working as a school caretaker in the village of Littleport near Ely.

In September 2001, Huntley applied for the position of caretaker at Soham Village College, a secondary school in the small town between Newmarket and Ely. The job had become vacant after the previous caretaker was dismissed for having an inappropriate relationship with a female pupil. Huntley was accepted for the post and began work on 26 November 2001.[16]

Huntley's trial opened at the Old Bailey in London on 5 November 2003 before Mr Justice Moses. He was charged with two counts of murder. The families of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman were present for the duration.

Huntley admitted that the girls had died in his house; he claimed that he accidentally knocked Wells into the bath while helping her control a nosebleed, and this caused her to drown. Chapman witnessed this and he claimed that he accidentally suffocated her while attempting to stifle her screaming. By the time he realised what he was doing, it was too late to save either of them. Based on this version of events, he admitted manslaughter.

The jury rejected his claims that the girls had died accidentally and, on 17 December 2003, returned a majority verdict of guilty on both counts of murder. Huntley was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term to be decided by the Lord Chief Justice at a later date.[17]

After Huntley was convicted, it was revealed that he had been investigated in the past for sexual offences and burglary, but had still been allowed to work in a school as none of these investigations had resulted in a conviction.

In August 1995, when Huntley was 21 years old, a joint investigation was launched by police and social services in Grimsby, after a 15-year-old girl admitted that she had been having sex with Huntley. Police did not pursue the case against Huntley in accordance with the girl's wishes.

In March 1996, Huntley was charged in connection with a burglary at a Grimsby house which took place on 15 November 1995, when he and an accomplice allegedly stole electrical goods, jewellery and cash. The case reached court and was ordered to lie on file. Also in March 1996, Huntley was once again investigated over allegations of having sex with an underage girl, but again he was not charged.

A month later, Huntley was investigated once again over allegations of underage sex, but this allegation too did not result in a charge. The same outcome occurred the following month when he was investigated over allegations of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

In April 1998, Huntley was arrested on suspicion of raping a woman. He admitted having sex with the woman but claimed it was consensual. The police decided not to charge Huntley.

A month later, Huntley was charged with rape and remanded in custody after an 18-year-old Grimsby woman claimed to have been raped by him on her way home from a nightclub in the town. The charge was dropped a week later after the Crown Prosecution Service examined CCTV images from the nightclub and determined that there was no chance of a conviction.

In July 1998, Huntley was investigated by the police on allegations that he indecently assaulted an 11-year-old girl in September 1997. However, he was never charged, though in April 2007 he confessed that he attacked the girl. He was investigated over allegations of rape on a 17-year-old girl in February 1999 but no charges were made against him.

The final allegation came in July 1999, when a woman was raped and Huntley – by now suspected by local police as a serial sex offender – was interviewed. He supplied a DNA sample and had an alibi provided by Maxine Carr to assert his innocence. The woman subsequently said that Huntley was not the rapist. This was the only case where the victim had not identified or named Huntley as the attacker.[18]

Home Secretary David Blunkett ordered an inquiry into these revelations, chaired by Sir Michael Bichard, and later ordered the suspension of David Westwood, Chief of Humberside Police. The inquiry criticised Humberside Police for deleting information relating to previous allegations against Huntley and criticised Cambridgeshire Constabulary for not following vetting guidelines. An added complication in the vetting procedures was the fact that Huntley had applied for the caretaker's job under the name of Ian Nixon, although he did state on the application form that he was once known as Ian Huntley. It is believed that Humberside Police either did not check under the name Huntley on the police computer — if they had then they would have discovered a burglary charge left on file — or did not check either name.

I know I saw that he was on his 4th Identity. it is a bloody joke. Money should be spent protecting children not ensuring that this utter filth of a human being can be allowed to have a life. He should not have been allowed one more life let alone 4, he took that boys life and is a disgusting sicko. I hope someone finds him, batters the absolute s**t out of him until he is dead and gets away with it. He is obviously not rehabiltated, I mean come on, how many shots does he get. Poor Jamie Bulger had one shot and that bastard stole it. Aaargh!! I get so angry about this sort of thing.

I mean payback? As far as I can see the man has had virtually no punishment at all for such an horrific crime!! Anyway I'll try and shut up. I hope he dies a horrible painful death, soon.

Me again. Sorry, I did it I clicked on the link even though I knew the story and didn't want to read it. And there it is, that poor little James Bulgers' face and even a tiny brief description of what they did to him. So upsetting. What sort of world are we in where we are trying to give cruel remorseless psychopaths a chance to get the most out of life? It's not right. Who are these people who make these decisions? Are they using a tick list or some beaurocratic paperwork s**t that says he has passed the test, answered the questions with what we want to hear so yes he is stable, non-threatening and deserves another chance. Oh I have to go to bed I am so angry.

If I could get reconciled with the fact that he has been released again (which I can't), I will never get reconciled with the fourth identity and the investment we taxpayers are required to make in this individual to ensure his life is as pleasant as possible.

Is it right that Jon Venables was 10 years old when he killed little James Bulger.

I have often wondered whether a child who does something like that at such a young age can ever redeem themself.

Do they truly know what they are doing at 10 and should we as a society condemn them forever.

It is a difficult situation when a child murders. I usually hope that they can ultimately make something of their life.

Yes he was 10.. and yes i believe a child of 10 (especially 'street wise ones ,like these 2 were) understand right from wrong where Murder and torture is concerned.

However he was much older when he was found with Child Porn on his computer and sent to prison again, so i guess with some people, its the 'way they are' and third and fourth chances just shouldn't be given..

Yes completely agree with that.

I also think 10 year olds know right from wrong. I probably would be willing to think someone that was 10 when they committed a crime could get a second chance but he is 30 now and still committing sex crimes, he has had enough chances, he is wrong 'un and always will be.

Yes true.

I wonder how the other boy is going and whether he has re-offended.

Hopefully he has been able to make something of his life.

It was a horrific crime, but I still think they need a 2nd chance given they were only 10 when they did it.

I think the other one has done ok since. Funny cos when they were kids, you might recall, it was the other one that looked like the real troublemaker and Venables led astray.

Just to clarify though - Ian Huntley did not work as a caretaker at the victims' school, he worked elsewhere. They only came into contact with him via his girlfriend who *did* work at their school. So his occupation was really irrelevant to the case.

No he should not get a FOURTH chance, he as constantly broken any rules given to him concerning life after prison, the country is paying for the new identity and he will be monitored daily (at what cost), the bigger picture is one of what if he does something similar again (lets hope not), but his track record of reoffending and breaking set down rules only goes to showing he as not turned a corner nor as he ever tried to, leave the scumbag behind bars, with no luxuries of life just the six walls to look at, so he can see only his memories of the short life he did have.

Absolutely disgusting to think he gets yet another chance.

Yes he did , and his occupation was VERY relevant , if he had been on the Police date system when applying for a school job then alarm bells would have started and he would never have been allowed near the school .

In 2001, Ian Huntley and his girlfriend Maxine Carr decided they wanted to be closer to his family and moved to Soham. Huntley got a job as a caretaker at Holly’s and Jessica’s school and Carr worked there as a teaching assistant.

When this creep offends again ( and he surely will)- who will take the blame? It is time they held some of these social workers accountable in circumstances like this. At the very least they should lose their jobs.

I have recently read a lot about the release, but why are social workers involved? What should they be accountable for?

I was very young when this happened and was shocked at it and it did scare me and I have always found it an horrendous act! However, I have never read it before, never knew what they actually did......my boy isn't much younger and my girl a little older. Sobbing my heart out - how is this monster allowed to walk free? Poor James' and his poor poor parents it is just too hideous to contemplate how they are feeling, I feel sick knowing this Man is alive and free!

A MAPPA meeting involving multi agencies, like the police, probation, offender management etc, will have taken place to assess his risk to the public and they decide if his risk has been reduced since he was recalled back to prison and if they assess it has, they release him. There will be strict restrictions put on him and being a lifer prisoner, he will have restrictions on him for the rest of his life and any breach of these restrictions will see him sent back to prison. He's costing millions and will carry on doing so for the rest of his life.
