  1. I feel your stress, guys The Department can probably ask for a confirmation of the employment, which you can upload without waiting the RFI (Request for Further Information) letter.
  2. Correct, if not s.48 barred, you can apply onshore. If you apply for a new sc482 visa, you will get a bridging visa C. The risk is that the sc186 application is refused after your sc482 new application: in this case you will have to apply for a bridging visa E, which will reset your time in Australia for your future Australian citizenship
  3. You need to lodge an offshore application for a sc482 visa from a BVA only if you are s.48 barred (i.e. you had a visa refused or cancelled)
  4. Why would you apply for a 482 when you have filed an application for a 186 (TRT, I assume)?
  5. From many of the posts here, it seems that there's not a chronological order (i.e. by date of application)
  6. Which visa? Probably you are getting confused with 186 TRT (transitional from 457/482). If you are on a 457/482 visa and this was applied for before 18 April 2017, the PR pathway through 186 TRT as a cook is still open for you until March 2022.
  7. 186 DE is not available as a cook because the occupation is on the STSOL, not on the MLTSSL
  8. In some cases, the department can request a confirmation of employment still available.
  9. Hi, one passport-size photograph is sufficient for each of you, they do not need to be certified and can be uploaded under "Photograph - Passport".
  10. Nominations in the hospitality industry are getting highly scrutinized, above all in relation to the genuineness of the position (given that many Australians have lost their job) and the financial capacity of the business to support the nominated salary (given the loss incurred by many venues). From your information, I can see that further information have been already requested in February (before the covid outbreak). If the business has updated documents showing that it can still financially support your position and that it still genuinely needs you, I would upload them. Hopefully this will speed up the decision.
  11. They can process it even if you are offshore. However, you can get stuck in India if you do not get your PR approved and you cannot enter Australia because on a temporary visa.
  12. Nowadays it depends on the occupation - if in the hospitality sector, it seems that they are taking longer to be processed given the current crisis. However, generally a 186 nomination can take up to 6-8 months, 187 nomination even longer.
  13. Which visa have you applied for that granted you a Bridging visa?
  14. Surely, if he uses the form 888, he should follow the instructions as per @paulhand's detailed response.
  15. In these circumstances (COVID-19), to circumvent the 8558 condition, you can simply apply for another visa. You can try to request any stay, the Department will then decide the length of the visa validity. There has been no declaration in regards to when the travel restrictions will be lifted, so there is a possibility that your mother will not be able to return in November.
  16. Can your landlord provide a statement? If your flatmate in London is not Australian, he can write his declaration on a simple A4 sheet, dated and signed. He can add a copy of his ID/passport too. It does not need to be certified.
  17. When do you intend to travel to Australia? Given the current travel restrictions for temporary visa holders, there's a possibility that your child on a visitor visa may not be granted permission to enter. If you are looking to move to Australia next year, you can consider to apply for the Child visa offshore now.
  18. The sponsorship application won’t attract an additional fee. You will be able to submit it after your partner/spouse’s application. As a sponsor, you will be requested to provide your personal information, your travels and residences for the last 10 years, character declaration, consent to disclose any offences to your partner/spouse and to abide by your obligations. Further, you will have to provide an Australian (and any foreign, if applicable) police check.
  19. There are no restrictions for 482 visa holders if they want to study.
  20. A family member applying for a 485 visa together with the main applicant must be onshore. If applying as a Subsequent Entrant to join a 485 visa holder, the family member can be either onshore or offshore
  21. If you have received a request for your medical check but you are not able to undertake the assessment, the Department is aware that there can be delays, either offshore or onshore.
  22. Hi Martyfenwick You can include a dependent child aged 15 or younger (so under 16) in your application.
  23. The agent's location won't make any difference on your application.
