  1. it will have registered on the passport when you entered the country, the visa is electronic and attached to your passport.
  2. I just had a look at the csol and it has TRA next to cabinet maker.
  3. Just make sure you read the guidelines very carefully and tick off each part as you get the evidence for it. If he has some periods of self employment then it is trickier as you need so much more evidence.
  4. not sure as 2 of ours are kids so they may need less.
  5. when we filled out the state nomination application a few months ago we had to write a figure over $40000 for our family of four, it wouldn't let you proceed to the next page unless you had that minimum amount down. We never had to show evidence but it sounds like thd new criteria is asking for evidence now.
  6. phew, good to know! have to do a bit more reading up about it all, thanks
  7. I am just about to start packing and I am wondering the same thing as I have some wooden carved ornaments from different places. A couple look like they have been varnished but a couple don't so I was going to varnish them myself, do you think this would be ok? Also I am surprised by the above list, surely everything on there can't be prohibited! I was going to bring the kids trike and scooters (obviously cleaned properly first) and also some small kitchen appliances which are quite new. And whats with the pianos and violins, I don't have any but imagine those that do are quite partial to them!
  8. Unfortunately we don't arrive until end of May, hope you find someone though.
  9. sorry, can't help but hopefully someone else can.
  10. sorry not sure about current times but it shouldn't be too long. what is your occupation?
  11. Hi, can't comment on transferring liscenses etc but for the visas, getting out there and having some money to set up and live on for a couple of months is going to be £20000+ (family of four)
  12. Hi Gordon be wary of the 457 visa, make sure you have looked into it as it has restrictions with it eg if you don't like your job or you are made redundant you have 90 days to find another employer to take on your sponsorship otherwise you have to leave the country. Also if you have kids they will have to pay school fees. Maybe when at the expo ask some advice about the different visa option and the pros and cons of each.
  13. Have a look at sister site Perth Poms, there are a couple that live in that area and should be able to give some info. Lots on that site moving April, May time too.
  14. you would get charged your credit card provider's exchange rate for overseas purchases, you should be able to find out what it is currently on their website or ring them to find out. The immi website is a guide but the exchange rate has greatly improved in the last few months so is no longer accurate.
  15. your credit card provider will use their own exchange rate so ignore the immi price. You can ring the card issuer to find out what their current exchange rate is or look on their website.
  16. If you have done an EOI for a state sponsorship visa it will be the 190 not the skilled independent 189. Not sure which state you are going for but WA has your occupation as 'schedule 2' which does mean that there are limited places and you need a job offer to proceed. That is maybe why you haven't got an invite yet.
  17. wow great news for you, about time! they didn't half make you sweat a bit:biggrin:
  18. It is so complicated, I agree with what you say, there are so many people using 'Braveheart' as their reason for voting without actually looking at the actual consequences of going independant. I can't see how the negatives that currently exist in Scotland are going to miraculously disappear with Independance, all the unemployed and on long term benefits will wake up and say 'right off to get a job today' ! IMO we already have the best of both in so many things i.e free prescriptions and free uni which England doesn't have I understand people voting that way as they want to have a say in who runs the government (poor conservative support in Scotland but yet they are in charge) but this theory of ' we can get rid of Alex Salmond after 'is risky because there is no going back if things aren't working out. The actual separation if Scotland votes YES sounds so complicated as well
  19. Hi, there is a thread on here, if you do a search for 'transferring from R.N to R.A.N' you should find it. Hopefully it will help.
  20. contact the relevant skills assessing body for landscape gardener and find out about whether you could pass a skills assessment without qualification, it is unlikely but you may as well check.
  21. http://www.ag.gov.au/Publications/Pages/Statutorydeclarationsignatorylist.aspx. We are in the UK and used a notary.
  22. I read today that Ikea donated more than China!
  23. most people rent a short term house/apartment for the first few weeks until they sort out a rental. Try http://www.airbnb.com or http://www.stayz.com.au. Also ozhouserental.com
  24. I believe they give double baggage allowance if you are moving over with a permanent visa on one way flight. They have recently increased standard allowance to 30 kilo so if you contact them you should be able to get 60kilo each. I think this new increase is from 1st of January flights but contact them anyway.
  25. I got a quote from their website and it was a bit over £1000 for a large one but not sure what extras may need to be paid for on top
